"Update Default Location When Choosing Save as Location" stopped working
-
Whenever I use the "Save as" function, the Download Location in the settings menu gets set to blank, and the downloads default back to the Windows downloads folder.
The old and expected behavior was that if I did a "Save as" first, and then followed that up with a bunch of just "Saves", they'd all go to the same folder.
"Save" still saves the files to the desired "Download Location" folder if I manually set it up, but as soon as I do a "Save as" that field is blank again, and the downloads go to Windows downloads folder.
This on Vivaldi 6.6.3271.50.

Seconding this.
Having the same problem for about 2 weeks now. -
That is a known and reported bug, Vivaldi developers will investigate and find on a solution.
-
Still no fix available
-
How is this not fixed after one month and 6 updates?
-
@TiredTman
Hi, there are thousands of reports, these kind of bugs get lower priority than others, Vivaldi crash or something gets higher priority.
These 6 updates was mostly security updates with some critical fixes.
I updated the report for 6.6/6.7.EDIT: I cant reproduce this with my internal 6.7 build, maybe @DoctorG can test this again if she has time.
-
Still broken in internal 6.7 daily build.

Anyone know the last version of Vivaldi that does not have this stupid bug? It has been messing with my workflow for more than a month now and clearly the developers are either unwilling or unable to fix it. I can't stand it anymore and need to revert or jump ship to Opera or something...

@Cutterkin I updated the bug tracker for current Vivaldi Tester and Stable version.
-
Thank you both! I love Vivaldi and would hate to abandon it over something small like this, but it really is driving me nuts. I'm going to revert and wait a bit longer.
-
I had the same problem. But I solved it myself by removing a number of add-ons that worked with files (like Image Downloader).

Three months later. Still not fixed by 6.7.3329.39.
Made a clean installation with the latest build and no extensions in a different machine. Default location still not updating.
