Solved Download dialog not shown on some websites
-
In Vivaldi 6.6.3271.45 (Stable channel) (64-Bit) the download dialog "save as" is missing. My download settings correspond to the standard.
How can I fix this error? -
@stardepp No workaround. Wait until a fixed 6.6 is ready.
-
@tocsoft I see, that is a known bug where files doe not appear in Download panel or do not show the Save As… dialog.
Vivaldi dev team is working on a fix. -
The minor update that was just released included this fix: [Downloads] No download dialog shown (VB-104397). Could you update and see if it fixes your issue?
-
@marialeal It's amazing how quickly this was implemented.
-
@Pathduck said in V6.6 | No Download Dialog with JavaScript:
What it should do is present a dialog asking the user if they want to keep this "insecure" download, like other browsers do.
What it should do is allow local addresses or a whitelist like other browsers do. This works 100% of the time on Chrome (without additional prompts), Firefox, and Edge. And, it worked 100% of the time prior to version 6.6
-
So,
Fixed then? -
@DoctorG I verfied that the new version 6.6.3271.48 which contain fix to VB-104397 fixed my problem

Thanks to the devs for the successful patching.

In Ver 6.6.3271.48, "From Server to PC"
I tried it, but in the download folder,
nothing was downloaded -

Same for me. Clicking on the download button does nothing - http://qrp.ru/cqqrp-magazine/1481-cq-qrp-67
Vivaldi 6.6.3271.48 (Edge and Firefox - both OK)
-
@allll Use context menu on link → Save Links As…
-
Same for me , on other browsers it works fine
Vivaldi 6.6.3271.48 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
reinstall version 6.5.3206.63 and it works and after the update it stops working -

Downgrade is not advised by Vivaldi team.
Such breaks profile data as chromium core versions differ, and will cause strange unforseen unfixable issues. -

@tocsoft There is a restriction with downloads over http. Perhaps you can solve it by adding a exception.
- Open vivaldi://flags/#unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure
- Set to Enable
- Add to text field this
http://192.168.1.225:8080
- Restart

That worked (as principle), but how can I do that for an entire domain ? I mean, for example, all addresses from a local network, such as 192.168.xx.yy. It is simply impossible to add dozens or hundreds IP addresses to that setting. This has nothing to do with the internet.

I guess of your devices have hostnames like pc1.local the
*.local
could work.This is useful https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/612454
