@Catweazle I have come across Freetube but SMPlayer is a new name to me. The latter has a bit of an odd name.
-
@EricJH, SMplayer is one of the best mediaplayer (FOSS, Mplayer engine and mpv). Before I used the VLC, but this one is way better and faster. FreeTube is fine, but in last times often fails to load the videos. So I use it to search videos , but open these in the SMplayer as you can see in the screenshot. If you copy a videolink online, it also appears automaticly in the SMplayer, there you can open it direct in Open >URL and Accept, without the need to paste it there first.
As said, in the settings of FreeTube you can add it as extern player, with this in each Video in FreeTube appears the option to open it there.A second later...

iFrame script don't longer work well, the video stops and overlay a small video window like the one in PiP. I've changed to an other script, which works fine. YouTube Adcleaner, with this YT can be whitelisted in the Vivaldi Adblocker.
Installing the same as with the iFrame script, download and conserve the script in a folder and dragging it to the extension page (Ctrl+Shift+E) in Developer Mode. -

You really shouldn't download the script like this, unless you're also willing to constantly check for updates. Use a userscript manager (TamperMonkey etc) and it will keep the script updated for you.
My guess is such a script will break all the time and need updates all the time.
-
@Pathduck, well, anyway there is an alternative for those which don't like the YT nags, with or without Tampermonkey or better Violentmonkey, which is FOSS and better.
-
Compare user numbers and number of ratings:
-
@barbudo2005, yeah, but this isn't what is most important for me, Violentmonkey is more complete, way more private and FOSS. Tampermonkey is proprietary soft, read TOS/PP of Tampermonkey
and you will also think the same as I do, it even logs and share your history.

@Catweazle thx for above script. I been Vivaldi user for more then 8-9 yrs but because of these youtube ads i had switched to brave browser and now back. But i must say brave and opera's inbuilt ad blockers are doing pretty good job as there i don't need to install any scripts.
-
@iam1simpleguy, well, but in change you have to accept trackers from half the internet in Opera, and from some crypto companies and Facebook in Brave, which sponsored it. They are not so private as you think. At least I prefer Vivaldi with the script and it's adblocker also do a good work (100%) with the filters I use.
-
@Catweazle yes you must be right as i didn't go deep in that adblockers and trackers .
But what you mean by filters? Earlier i used this script
https://github.com/TheRealJoelmatic/RemveAdblockThing/releases/tag/v4but recently i was getting error inyoutube so i was trying to move to another browser but your script brought me back.
But another thing i really like about brave browser is that we can have address bar in title bar and it also saves space.
-
@iam1simpleguy, well I saved enough space in Vivaldi with the vertical tabs and without taskbar (all its icons are moved to the adressbar)
-
Hahaha good job..But how without taskbar?
Btw im also using vertical bars and address bar on the right. -
@iam1simpleguy, you can hide the taskbar in the settings, the only real use it has is to show th URL of a link when i put the cursor over the link, and this is still shown in a small popup with the hidden taskbar.
-
Forgive me i meant to ask how did u hide title bar? there are so many icons in your screenshot im not able to figure out clearly.
where your arrow is pointing to is called status bar. When mouse hovers over any link it shows up.
How do you have all these icons along with vivaldi menu icon? -
@iam1simpleguy, in Vivaldi you can put the icons where you want from the Taskbar to the Adress bar. (Ctrl+dragging them with the left button). After this in the Settings you can hide the Taskbar (the default bar at the bottom with the clock, zoom and others (1)).
Buttons in Vivaldi are full customizable (Right click on the bar>Edit), or put your own icons in the Theme setting. This is one thing what Vivaldi is different from others and what it means when they say "Make it yours".(1)
Taskbar
You can see other possibilities from other users here as inspiration or take a look on the Vivaldi Themes site which you can use (several thousends made by the users), or upload also your own theme

Are you referring to the Exceptions in Opera for trackers ad domains? They can be removed and once removed will not be put back when updating. It is a bit sneaky though.
Thank you for the testpage of Toolz. What filters are you using? I am not getting a 100% score.

It might be related. I saw the following post by a uBO moderator on Reddit:
YT has recently been targetting rules to hide ads outside the player than in-player ones, so we have reorginazied all the rules.
It fits the timeframe.

@Catweazle
This is how mine looks like.
i moved address bar to right side as if address bar at top then title bar size is quite bigger but from the pic u can see it's minimal. Since i have wide screen monitor i can afford spaces to left and right so i choose vertical tabs also but top and bottom not much space. Thx again for the helping . -
