As i could interpret issue is caused by timing, a race condition; some Linux users see it, some not. That's why it was so hard to detect why this happened.

Hey I never said anything bad about anyone. I also didn't think anything bad about anyone. I know Vivaldi developers are doing beautiful things and if I would ever blame anyone then I would blame Google.

This situation.. it's a bug, what can you do!?

I mean if we wouldn't have Vivaldi, playing with bookmarks would be infinitely harder or in some situations near impossible. The flak that devs got here shows just how much users depend and love the speed dial feature.

I mean look at Firefox (and Firefox derived) and Chrome (and Chrome derived) browsers on Android. Those dev teams are so incredibly idiotic that in 2023 they haven't implemented bookmark (re)arrangment. It's mindblowing!! And we take it for granted in Vivaldi.. : )

A really irritating issue. I tried to reproduce on two PCs. I do not understand, why i do not see this bug with my Debian 12 KDE + Ubuntu 22/23 with NVidia GT 710/HD 630 drivers on my Office PCs with Gigabyte boards GA-75N and GA-B250-HD3P.

Hi, you cant downgrade Vivaldi, this will break your profile and leads to more errors than this UI glitch bug.
There is no bug free version of any software, if you downgrade to 6.2 you get more bugs.
You can install older Vivaldi as standalone and use sync to get your bookmarks, passwords and more.

May be directly look issue on problem PC who reported here?
There are a lot of users, who have this issue, in the forum, via remote access software or locate neighborhoods

At the risk of flogging a dead horse ....

The consistent thing here in my experience is proc speed/resources.

It simply does not happen on older slower procs.

People also report that it does not happen in VMs--less proc time available to the VM--try allocating more resources/cores to the VM.

It happens frequently in various Linux distros on my 12-year-old or so Core i7 3770K system. It also happens in Win 10 on the same system but much less frequently.

I also have a newer LG Gram laptop, less than a year old, running Win 11 (can't recall proc model), and it happens here with about the same frequency as it does on my old Core I7 system in Linux and more frequently than in Windows 10 on this older system. It happens in Linux on this system, too.

It's not that serious a problem. It does not in anyway impair my use of the browser. At worst the problem is a minor inconvenience for which there are well documented and reliable workarounds.

We have assurances that the problem is being worked on. A fix will come, I am sure.

I would agree with you if the problem only occurred in snapshot (even if it has been around for a long time)
but the problem also exists in stable (for a month) and given that speed-dial is the innovative way for Vivaldi to introduce itself to new users, there is the risk that among the reliable workarounds there will also be that of changing browser.

That applies when you speak for yourself but some of us navigate bookmarks using almost only Speed Dial so for us the problem is massive. It's not a minor incovenience at all!

Not sure if this is relevant. I am having a similar issue with the latest version of Firefox.
Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint mint-001-1.0 version 119.0.1.
Do both browsers share code?

Hi and no, Firefox is completely different to Chromium browsers like Vivaldi.
Even they could, the Vivaldi team would never allow that.

Hello, when you install Vivaldi and use sync to get your bookmarks but the thumbnails are not synced.
Hit F5 on this page and all thumbs are updated.
I see you have a lot of folders and sub folders, open the Bookmark page from Speed Dial, on the right top is "Update Thumbnails", there you can update folders.
Select one after on and use "Update Thumbnails" to get them updated.
