In the side History Panel, the list view, sorted by date, shows a new line for every page view. This makes it very difficult to browse, because many sites, like Wikipedia, produce new page view entries just by scrolling the page. I'm only interested in seeing a list of pages that I've visited, and not page views. Can Vivaldi for Windows be configured to do this?

Hi and no, there is no setting for this.
This seems to be a Wikipedia issue, Opera shows exactly the same in the history panel.
        Other pages show a counter:

I simply jump on one page, Vivaldi forum unread show 28 page views but only one entry.

@mib2berlin Thanks for your info. Since I hadn't heard anything for several days before seeing your message, I posted a variation of my message in the Feature Request forum, but haven't gotten any reply.

It seems like you mentioned a workaround, but I can't understand what you mean. What are you clicking on in Vivaldi when you "simply jump on one page?" Also, the link to your image does not work at this point, so I can't get your point there either.

Since Wikipedia is he site I visit most often, I hadn't noticed that most other sites don't display this behavior--fortunately! However, I also see this problem when navigating through a Google Street View, and when visiting Healthline.com. Have you seen it elsewhere?

Hi, with jump on the page I meant using the links in content:

            b6e731c6-4b79-4d9f-864b-f0ddefc65400-image.png

Every clink on such a link create a new history entry but this is the expected behave.
I don´t think Vivaldi can "fix" this but I would support your request if it were possible.
I am sorry if you understand my post as providing a workaround, there is none.

@mib2berlin NodeBB too. A way to condense the results a bit would help the history performances...

But relying on tab title would be wrong, because other sites go to different places also with the same name. Still something I'd test into the experiments. Perhaps the redudant entries could be sub-nested and only opened if need ^^

There are some feature requests but most got no or 1-3 votes.
The most promising is the View by Site request:

@mib2berlin Grouping by site would be nice (and probably easier to do) but wouldn't solve the dupes matter. I already upvoted that. This is more a group by heuristic/url proximity. Nice, but unsure how hard can be in reality 😃
