Option to remove the top and bottom padding on navigation bar with tabs on side
-
In the 6.0 update, a feature was added where if the tab bar is on the side (or the bottom), the Vivaldi button and the window buttons will merge into the navigation toolbar rather than create their own title bar. This feature is really nice, however a bunch of padding is added on the top and bottom of the navigation bar when this happens. See:
And this is a Vivaldi-specific thing, here's the Notepad window buttons on the left:
Could an option be added to have the navigation toolbar as tall as the address bar is, like it is when the tabs are on top?

I believe that padding is to give the user the option to still drag the window by the top (the title bar in most other windows) - if the whole space is taken by the address/search fields and the rest of the buttons in the address bar, how would a user be able to drag the window?

@pauloaguia Maybe keeping a minimum padding but use a fewer padding than today?

@saduran Cant' really be less - I checked and the area between the cursor being in "Window Resize mode" and "Tab drag mode" is like 2 or 3 pixels high - that's already hard enough to get right for many people, especially if their mouse movements are not precise enough...
Personally I don't have that issue - I use the tab bar on the side and in that mode there is no extra padding at the top...

@pauloaguia It is when tabs are on the side that extra padding is added to the Navigation Bar/Address Bar
