YouTube not working with ads blokers.
-
@Catweazle
Ah OK, No idea about clickbaits but I will check the extension if it make any difference for me and I don´t use playlists, so 50% of all problems I don´t have.
Do you had any warning message reported from some user like: "If you use an ad blocker next time you get blocked for 24 Hours"?Cheers, mib

Although it would certainly be very nice if the internal ad blockers would also work for YT, I am a happy user of the uBlock Origin extension. For me the best, ultimate solution.
-
@mib3berlin, an advice that the reproductor will be blocked after three videos if i use an adblocker.

A great way to hear directly from the uBO team about the YT issue is to follow this feed:
-
@barbudo2005, yes, also in other posts they have good wishes for YT, as I said, Google hate adblockers and does everything to make their lives impossible. I'm just surprised that Google haven't removed them from the store yet, as he already did with other privacy extensions.

Too bad there is no serious alternative to YT, some users have already moved to Odysee, PeerTube and others, although they are not a real alternative for content.
-
Has anyone reported this as a bug yet?
-
@Pesala, i don't think so, the Vivaldi blocker works fine, but not enough for Google's dirty advertising tricks. Even uBO itself has trouble with it. The bug is called Google.

Alternatives to YT:
Android: Newpipe

Windows:
1.- For the channels or playlists that you always use, the best option is to load them in a Feed Reader.
2.- MPC-BE video player:

@barbudo2005, I prefer to bite a monogram on my belly, before watching YT on my mobile, on the Desktop I use SMPlayer.
Before I had VLC for this, it wasn't bad, but SMPlayer is much superior, much faster and easier to use (also FOSS) -
Here are instructions to configure uBlock Origin to fix the YT issue.
-
Since YT is now blocking access unless you allow ads, what's the best setting to use? I'm not sure
-
As said before, using the Vivaldi ad/trackerblocker+the iFrame script. At least for me works fine
-
For desktop I'm trying this https://freetubeapp.io.
What is FreeTube?
"FreeTube is a YouTube client for Windows, Mac, and Linux built around using YouTube more privately. You can enjoy your favorite content and creators without your habits being tracked. All of your user data is stored locally and never sent or published to the internet. FreeTube grabs data by scraping the information it needs (with either local methods or by optionally utilizing the Invidious API)."

For uBlock might be helpful purging the cache to force a new fetch of the (updated) lists which may have solved the issue. Not seeing the YT block since days (I've also removed g cookies, btw).
Tampermonkey script + additional lists as fckfckadblock might work too for Vivaldi Blocker. -
@Hadden89, no, i tried the fckfuckadblock list before in the Vivaldi blocker, it don't work and above block also some function of YT. I had to desactivate it, also the other filter I tested before, they don't work in YT..
-
@Catweazle Yeah, there is still the issue vivaldi blocker has ABP filter compatibility, so UBO advanced rules might not work properly. Probably the tampermonkey script is a more effective solution.
Would be nice to bribe Gorhill with a parternship, but likely won't happen. -
At the moment, I use Tampermonkey with these scripts from Greasyfork: "Remove YouTube Adblock Warnings!", and "YouTube Adblock banbypass". They worked yesterday and today, but I'm afraid that YT will find a way of blocking those too. I mention this to give ideas to Vivaldi Developers in case they want to improve their adblock. And I hope that the extensions are working on bypassing that issue.

This is my best solution that works well for me.
- I remain logged in on YouTube
- I open the index page with a button that runs a Command Chain to zoom to 95% (for fitting more thumbnails to my monitor’s width)
- Ad-blocking is disabled for YouTube
- I open a video and the ads start to play
- I click another button that runs a command Chain for: History Back, Delay 10ms, History Forward
- The video starts playing without ads. Inline and end of video ads may still play, but can be skipped.
Command Chain Buttons on Panel Toolbar

uBlock Origin does work, you just might need to clear the cache every 24 hours to get it to work again, but so far so good for me.
What is ironic is, before youtube started blocking my I was just using a blocker to remove shorts - but was still getting the adverts. Then Youtube blocked me completly so now I am using a full add blocker and not watching any adverts at all. So by Youtube doing what they did, it means I now watch less adverts..
