Elastic Scroll
-
Elastic scrolling is cool and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants something like this.
Microsoft Edge and Opera Browser have or had this feature. Unfortunately, Opera has discontinued this flag. Which I think opens up space for Vivaldi to implement the resource as another one of its differentials.
-
@bitwelve I never heard of it before. Elastic Scrolling seems to be an unpopular feature. What do you like about it?
-
@Pesala I like it because it is a resource that leaves a more fluid impression when scrolling.
As for it being an unpopular feature, maybe that's because it comes by default in Edge and you should disable the flag on the about://flags page instead of the browser's default configuration page. Which makes it a bit boring. Vivaldi could work around this by offering the feature already disabled in the browser settings page.
-
@bitwelve it seems to be similar to bouncy scroll in https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chromium-wheel-smooth-scr/khpcanbeojalbkpgpmjpdkjnkfcgfkhb
May cause issues on some sites, reason which was probably deprecated

@Hadden89 Thanks for the alternative! It's not quite as complete a bouncy scroll as it is in Edge, but it's interesting. I'll use it for now. But I'm still waiting for an integrated Vivaldi solution, who knows?

I noticed that the scrolling is different in Edge. Usually I know how much do I need to scroll to reach the desired position. In Edge there is some kind of a momentum for the scrolling, and to be honest it was very annoying to me.
