Break mode?

my user elements are all disabled. no menu bar. ...how do i solve this?

my post:
if anyone is feeling generous, i could use some help....my vivaldi browser just lost menu bar and graphic elements throughout browser, but pages still open and titlebars are correct. youtube shows the video that was previously open, but no text anywhere. the sidebar shortcuts are also half gone, only added ones show, not stock. logging out and using a new user displays normal window. several electron apps are also behaving similarly .... irccloud and android-messages. any thoughts about what might cause this?...a user chrome cache or something maybe?right click works
opening vivaldi in a different pc log with new user works.menu and text are all gone.

Hm, the symptoms sounds the same.
Can you try to open Vivaldi from a terminal with:vivaldi --use-gl=desktop -
that command in terminal returns "vivaldi not found"..though clicking from my menu opens it.
currently trying to find cache folder per Mint link suggestion.

deleting the gpu cache seems to have done nothing. I deleted 3 different ones.

I make liberal use of tabs and not having vivaldi severely crippled my flow. thank you so much.is this fix temporary, or can i rest easy now?

Nice, I am happy.
Something on your system is happen Vivaldi cant use your GPU for acceleration, this break to UI sometime, too.
Was there a system update lately? -
i update daily. its an arch-like derivative distro. do i need to adjust a setting somewhere to disable acceleration in the meantime?

You can disable hardware acceleration in Settings > Webpages.
Then it should start without the command.
But this is only a workaround. -

I dug into the .config GPUCache files of irccloud and android-messages-desktop and deleting the cache did restore function. \o/
