Mail notificatons duration

Using 6.0.2979.18 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit) with Manjaro on Raspberry Pi4 as and latest snapshot on Linux Mint.

Is there a way to change the duration of the new mail notification?
Currenly, it is displayed for thirty seconds or so, and the only way to get rid of it is to click on it, which then opens the mail, which I would rather do later.

Hi, I cant test this on Raspberry Pi but on Linux and Windows it is less than 3 seconds, 30 seconds seams a bug to me.
There is no setting to change the duration.
Maybe wait a few days if a Raspberry Pi user steps by and/or report it to the bug tracker.

Well then, I am left to assume that there is no location within Vivaldi to change this setting.

After a bit more research, it seems the notification settings are hard-coded in the respective OS's, so will look into if there is a solution to this annoyance and bring it back here if I find one.
edit** there can be more than one notification app running...

There sure are a lot of requests for duration management out there...

@xr3y6rs The delay is about 25 seconds on Windows 10. I don't know of any setting to change it. The delay does seem to be longer than it used to be.

I could be wrong about this, but I would assume that the display of notification is controlled by your Desktop Environment, and not by Vivaldi.

Using Cinnamon as my Desktop Environment, I think the notifications for Vivaldi are similar to what I get when I run the notify-send command. You might be able to test this by opening a terminal and running notify-send test. You'll get a notification that says 'test' and it will likely last the same duration as the Vivaldi mail notification.

Ah thanks, Linux is my main system and Opensuse/KDE set duration time to 5 seconds by default.
Therefor I thought it is 3 seconds, in Windows it is much longer.
Maybe one have to set:
vivaldi://flags/#enable-system-notifications
I have it default.

I concluded this as well, as the condition exists across multiple devices, all have Mate DE.
I don't know enough to interpret the DE files though. Maybe someone is familiar.

Okay, I played around with it a bit.

It is controlled by the OS settings.

In Linux Mint Cinnamon, under System Settings --> Notifications, there are options for "Notification duration (seconds)". Mine was set to 4 seconds and that is how long the notifications last. As a test, I bumped it up to 30 seconds, sent an email, and the notification lasted 30 seconds.

So, if you want to chance your notification duration, you'll have to find it in your OS settings.

I noticed the duration was longer than it previously had been, on other Linux desktops no longer used.

But with KDE, it follows the KDE setting, which is 5 seconds.

@mib2berlin No solution found, and pretty sure now that it is Vivaldi specific, so bug report submitted.

VB-97651 hope the wording is helpful.

Thank you, I cant confirm the report because i can set the time in the KDE settings but I add tags and a link to this thread.
I guess we have Mint testers and developers can test this.
