Sync all settings
-
I saw a post from 2021 with this request, but the links for voting are down. I don't know if I'm being redundant, but that would be great!

@ladeira42 The plan is to sync most things possible but is not easy as it may seems because some of settings must match only between the same OS (paths & part of UI settings). There are a lot of active request on sync
-
@Hadden89 Hm, that makes sense. Hehe
Thanks for the heads up! -

MARK / SHOW which options or extensions WILL be synced. Today, the only option is to try it, and ??CLICK a button?? to force SYNC immediately, and then see if that option synced.

Syncing the EXTENSIONS from one PC/Android is necessary. This is something I REALLY was shocked that should, but didn't work, but only learned it failed after testing.
When I have to manage other PCs, I need to be able to just sync without opening their desktop, sending the links to that pc, then installing, then configuring.
You'd have to "filter" for OS or other extension compatibility reasons, but seems most of them could work.An alternative is to provide a place where I get all the EXTENSION LINKS, and separately, other CONFIG OPTIONS that I tried to sync to those PCs, but MUST be approved on that PC, and provide the ultimate authority to accept that sync option.

@DaaBoss
Hi, extensions are synced for a long time.Check: vivaldi://sync-internals
There is listed what is synced.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin said in Sync all settings:
vivaldi://sync-internals
I strongly suggest that anyone interested in "syncing everything" study and USE this vivaldi://sync-internals page, and bookmark this huge dashboard that shows everything you can imagine about your syncing state, settings, and history.
Thanks! That said, although I do see that I have 11 extensions that are showing green, and presumably synced, I don't see any information at all about any one of those 11, nor how to look up specifics of those extensions. Since it is SHOWING they are synced, I'll have to retest, since last time I looked, they did not sync.

@DaaBoss
Hi, check Sync Node Browser, sync-internals provide much more information but I have not go deeper into it.
It shows also disabled extensions.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin OK --- So, I looked all over for the EXTENSION: "SYNC NODE BROWSER"
Google didn't work, Chrome store didn't work, and lots of hits for the STRING, but nothing with the LINK to the extension... So, reading those posts, it started to become evident that this WAS NOT an extension, but it was an "extension" of the internal Vivaldi screen!!
Wow, now I am impressed, this really is a powerful tool. For anyone new, make sure you explore the TABS tab the TOP of the Vivaldi://SYNC-INTERNALS page, and from there:
Click on this TAB: "Sync Node BROWSER", from WITHIN this page!
