Vivaldi suddenly doesn't load any website at random times
-
This has happened to me a few days ago on version 5.7 and I've also experienced it the second time today on version 6.0. I really don't know how to reproduce it because it happens randomly after some time of usage. When it happens, it's stuck on the blank background that is usually seen while the website loads and the loading progress is stuck on 0 / 0 . After that it can only be fixed by restarting the browser.
I don't know if this will help, but I'm on a new install of Windows 11 (only a few days old) and I don't have any extensions installed. What's also interesting is that I've used Vivaldi quite a lot on Linux and I never experienced this issue there.

@user1vivaldi That is a rare issue for some users and known for Chromium browsers, too.
Close tab (Ctrl W) and reopen tab (Ctrl Shift T) does not help?

@user1vivaldi
Hi, this is an old Chromium bug, also reported to the Vivaldi bug tracker.
I could reproduce it once on a two day session on Windows 11 but never on Linux, as you mention.
We cant do anything if the Chromium developer cant fix this, I fear.Cheers, mib

I have had this issue too. Sometimes buy opening a new tab the website randomly loads. That was on version 5.7 and prior. I am on version 6.0 now so we will see.

@DoctorG I didn't try closing and reopening my current tab that has already loaded a certain website (I think I'll try it next time if it will happen again), but it happens when I open a new tab and click on any website either from speed dial or via search bar (regular search doesn't work too in these cases).

@mib2berlin Hi, thanks for the answer.
I don't know if it matters at this point, but I've noticed a pattern when it happens to me and also another symptom (so maybe there's a small chance it's an unrelated issue?)
It always happens when I have a few tabs of Youtube open and it happens consistently if I open a new Youtube tab / video in the background. Then, when I switch to that tab, the video starts playing, but the whole page becomes unclickable so I can't do anything but close that tab. (And after that of course there's the symptom of websites not loading that I already described).Also, do you have the link for that old Chromium bug report by any chance?
