No audio out from Vivaldi
-
Just started noticing no audio from the browser when on YT or Udemy. Yet, I get audio from Google Chrome and EDGE for the same sites just fine. I did a restart of the win11 machine just in case but still the same result. I did the update that came out a few hours ago and still the same. I checked the tab and its not muted.
Any other settings I need to check?
I am going to try to see if I can get audio with my USB headset, perhaps the issue is Vivaldi not seeing my sound card even though every other app I have does.

@fleegle61 Hello and Welcome to the Vivaldi Community
Check:
Settings > Tabs > Mute Tab Audio
Settings > Privacy & Security > Default Permission > AudioQuick Commands (F2), Unmute All Tabs
Check Windows Audio Mixer, Vivaldi has not been muted.

@Pathduck Got it fixed. It was the last check. For some reason in win11 in the volume mixer under apps, it only showed system sounds and not vivaldi. Doing a reset of the volume mixer brought vivaldi back into the apps section.
Beats me how it disappeared but its back now
Thanks

Well, you need to have a program actually output audio before it shows in the mixer. I guess by doing a reset, you set all programs to the default volume state.
You could look for the audio output icon on the tab to know if the tab should be playing audio:
If a tab is muted, it will show the muted icon:
If something is broken in audio decoding, no icon will show obviously.
I generally prefer the old Volume Mixer, just much better than the crap new settings one. No idea if that one's still in Win11.
You can also use this excellent tool to view all audio settings for programs, even the ones not currently playing audio:

@Pathduck Welcome to WIN11...I liked it old school as well . As you can see, now I have both browsers showing. Before I did the reset, Vivaldi didnt even show and now way to adjust it. It was just gone. Gonna head to nirsoft now to check out the tool.
