TouchBar Support on MacOS
-
The TouchBar feature on MacBooks is unused by Vivaldi (other than in terms of word suggestion) but it is supported by other browsers like Chrome and Safari. Though I've seen a multitude of posts talking about this issue, they're all dead and have no updates. I was wondering whether support for the TouchBar will be added, and if so, when? Another post was talking about the TouchBar being discontinued, but its in the newest 13" MacBook Pro (as seen here). Lack of TouchBar support is the only reason I'm not switching from Safari to Vivaldi, and I hope it comes soon.

@Dragonizedpizza I tracked down the bug report requesting that Touch Bar support be added to Vivaldi. Unfortunately, it got closed in October, 2021 with a status of "Won't Do", right after Apple dropped the Touch Bar in their new MacBook Pro designs. Back then, Apple said, "Users value the full-height function row on the standalone Magic Keyboard. And we've brought it to the MacBook Pro." and they made it pretty clear at the time that the Touch Bar was on its way out.
The latest 13" MacBook Pro is an old/existing hardware design with updated internals. Will be interesting to see whether Apple reverses course and brings the Touch Bar back in an all-new Mac design.
