Cheers, mib

I read it.
I would like to know if workspaces are a "kind" of windows that are not displayed in taskbar tile.
-
Workspaces are very similar to tab stacks, but instead of tabs(web pages) being nestled in a single tab, they are saved to appear as their own tab bar
Sessions saves tabs within a window so when you open those you will be opening multiple windows.
So to answer question, no. Workspaces will appear as a single window in your taskbar since only 1 instance of Vivaldi is open, unlike with sessions which will have multiple instances of Vivaldi in the taskbar.

@sjudenim You say it's in sessions, it doesn't matter. Here we are discussing the convenience of working with spaces and windows. If there is something in common with sessions, then so be it.
@trit34It does matter since your suggestion is convoluting features. Besides, currently workspaces are not saved as windows so stating if they are saved or not as such is inaccurate. If you want saved windows, that's what sessions do. Pointing this out is to help familiarize you with the browser

I wish someone could replicate this behavior.
- Open any website (this very one may be).
- Right click.
- From the context menu select Developer Tools.
Put the Developer Tools in separate window (click on the three vertical dots, then "Undock into separate window"). - A new window opens.
- Return to the site window and repeat right click.
- From the context menu select Developer Tools again.
Another window opens... but...
The other window with the Developer Tools becomes unresponsive.
If you close any of the Developer Tools windows, Vivaldi crashes without any message. After restarting Vivaldi all open tabs are lost.
Thank you.

@DriverOp I can confirm this - please report a bug.
Please read:
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker

@sjudenim I have used many browsers where there are spaces. Opera browser is an analogue of tab groups. I used other browsers. Shift, Stack, to be honest, I have already forgotten the exact names of the browsers, There were spaces in the "Mini" browser too. And I will tell you that I have seen the topic of workspaces well from different sides. But in Vivaldi, spaces are like saving window tabs. This is quite good. But if it's like saving windows, then why do we need to introduce new terms. We can call the same thing saving windows for beginners. For professionals, it is important that this function be, and for beginners, the main thing is that it is intuitive in the name of the function. Therefore, if it is called window saving, it will be easier. People were asking for workspaces. But in fact, they needed windows to be saved as menus. and be able to quickly switch between these saves.

@mib2berlin Tell me what is in Edge that is not in Vivaldi, for what reason do you recommend Edge?
-
@pathduck: Thank you.
Reported as a bug with VB-96498 reference. -
@KoreshS
Synced workspaces you can share with other user, for example.
In my opinion Edge is the best choice for non experienced user, well integrated in Windows, fast and with incredible development speed.
This get a bit off topic now, I will stop discussion about browser and the sense of life now.Cheers, mib

It's not new terms, you are just misusing the existing ones. Workspaces do not work as multiple windows, they exist within a single one in the tab bar. The "window" is the entire application, not the elements inside it
I actually rather they worked more like what you think they are, in that workspaces are saved within a single window across sessions. Unfortunately they are not right now, which is what sessions do but I don't like that they open multiple windows. I'd like to see the functions of both features merged
Plus my sessions panel still shows nothing, so there's that

My idea concerns what is above this line.
Thank you for your patience with me; I still don't understand. I don't want you to waste your time on me. I hope someone smarter will engage you and work with you on your idea.

@sjudenim Ask your parents what browser workspaces mean. These are NOT new terms for you and for me, I have used 4-5 different browsers with spaces. Shift, Mini and others. But for beginners, these are new terms. And the bottom line is that for most it's a new term, it's easier for them to call it saving window with tabs. For you and for me, this does not change the essence. And it will be easier for ordinary people to use understandable terms. And for them, the term space is a new term.

Has anyone else had issues with downloads not appearing in the download list since installing this snapshot?

Restarting the browser seems to have fixed it. I guess only people who leave Vivaldi open for days/weeks at a time would have noticed the issue?

since the last or the last 2 snapshots I have a strange bug with the rss notifications.
I always get a notification with a way bigger number of "new" feed items, than rather came in:
in fact I only got 3 new feed items
has anyone else saw this behaviour?

Not sure if this qualifies as bug, nor if it's the expected behaviour.
If I open a new tab when in certain workspace, the new tab opens in that workspace.
If I open a new browser window, use it, then close it and return to the said workspace in my primary window, it's the same.
That changes though, after I open a saved session in a new window. When I'm done with that session, and close the window, upon returning, all new tabs are opened in the 'Start Page' workspace, and not in the workspace I'm in. If I am persistent enough, moving those new tabs from the 'Start Page' workspace to the workspace I want them in, the browser crashes on the 5-10th move.
After restart, it works as expected.
Can someone please confirm that open-session-in-a-new-window bug is valid?
