How can installed apps be removed?
-
I had the Todoist app installed for testing purposes and, having finished with it, attempted to delete it... Much to my dismay, it was the entire installation — browser and history — that was removed!
It's too late to do me much good, but it might be helpful to know if this calamity could have been prevented...

@OakdaleFTL What does the Todoist app have to do with Vivaldi browser on Android?
-
@luetage I had Todoist installed as a Vivaldi app on my phone...where Vivaldi for Android was set as my default browser.

Just tried a test:
Allowed Forum app to be installed. Deleted Forum app. Poof! No more Vivaldi browser...

@OakdaleFTL Is very akward. Which V-version, which android?
Have you checked if the browser is still there (under settings > apps on android) or if the actual vivaldi is hidden by your launcher? -
@Hadden89 Oops! I had re-installed from the Playstore before I saw your post... Good advice, however!
One more test, then.
Nope: Deleting app deletes browser as well, and -of course- any other Vivaldi apps...

@OakdaleFTL Just report from your device so it will collect android OS, vivaldi, kernel and so on. Must be something related to some OEM vs Vivaldi.
-
@Hadden89 I suspect you're right... Do you mean report (as a bug) from my phone?
-
@OakdaleFTL Always better reporting bugs from the platform you are on. Also add rom version, kernel version, android version and oem vendor (phone producer). Some infos will be already in the report but just in case...

@Hadden89 Sent! (Not as difficult as I'd feared — thanks to the help page, found via forum search.)
Thanks!Hope it's not a Vivaldi bug, though: That would affect many more users...
I've synced the Android browser — in preparation for one more test. (Later today or tomorrow.
