Import pop mail account from Opera 12 to Vivaldi
-
Hi all,
I am importing t an old POP account from Opera 12 into Vivaldi. It is mostly just legacy email before our systems migrated to IMAP.
Vivaldi quickly identified the account and the import is running, but I have some queries:
1 - It seems that Vivaldi is importing the POP account directly into the only Vivaldi mail account I have set up. Wouldn't it be smarter to import into a separate account?
2 - Is this forcing/uploading the old POP emails into the IMAP folder? If yes, I should be able to retrieve those old email on the IMAP server (e.g. in MS Outlook as well).
3 - If not, where are the POP emails stored? what happens if I need to change laptop?
I think that the best course would be:- In Vivaldi, set up a separate POP account, with no server.
- Import from Opera 12 into the Vivaldi POP account.
I wish vivaldi created a new local account by default, leaving the option to import into existing account as secondary
EDIT: I have also tried to create a trial pop account and re-run the import procedure. At no point Vivaldi allowed me to pick the receiving account.
Any comments are welcome. I will soon migrate to another laptop so I may be able to do some testing.
thanks
