Workspaces – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2970.3

@prime23
I guess it would be interesting for the developer to get the crash log, those cases are may not tested much.
Depends on your platform they are created different, simply open help pages with F1 and search for crash.
This take some of your time but would be really helpful for all Vivaldi user.Cheers, mib

To move a Tab Stack to a Workspace, you use the "Move Tab Stack" item near the middle of the context menu. But, to move multiple Tab Stacks, you use the "Move 9 Tabs" (for example) item near the top of the context menu. This difference is disorienting. Should this be a feature request or bug report?
-
Hi. Do you also have a problem with saving tabs as a session when you have several workspaces created?
-
It would be nice if "Profile" be given as many same conveniences as given to "Workspace".
In particular, you can already "Open Link in Another Profile", and using this mechanism, you can "move" a tab to another profile. (I mean the developers can implement this "move".)
I still need multiple Profiles because I need to use multiple Google accounts.

I love this update. As a freelance programmer with ADHD, it really gives me more options I can use to organize my tabs for my various clients and companies.
I'm sure someone's already pointed this out. But the embedded frameworks take a ton of processing power. Sometimes Vivaldi glitches out and its UI and web elements become unresponsive.
-
@NineMan Hundreds of open tabs and many extensions drops CPU power, GPU driver issues, security tools (depends on OS), watching videos over hours all this can cause freezes.
For tabs causing less consumption you can use context menu in Workspaces menu popup → Hibernate Workspaces.
-
Yes, thank you, I'm familiar with that. What I'm saying is the number of JCEF Helpers that I assume the Workspace feature functions on seems to be taking tons of processing power.
Nonetheless, I only have two Workspaces with a total of 12 tabs open. I'll try hibernating a Workspace to see if that helps.
Thank you.

@NineMan Windows Task Manager is not always very useful to see what consume so much. Sysinternals ProcExplorer is better.
Do these listed JCEF processes really related to Vivaldi? I thought that it is a framework to embed Chromium in a Java application?
Had you checked in Vivaldi with
Shift Esc
which tab and extension causes high load? -
@DoctorG Hi, actually, you're right. My bad. I was working on a Chrome extension last night. It looks like the development environment I was using didn't close properly. My bad. I'm sorry for wasting your time.
-
@NineMan Such little faults happen for programmers and webworkers, i know.

Seems like there's an issue with file downloads. Just tried downloading Docker Desktop and the download gets stuck at the last byte. Tried the same in Vivaldi Stable - and it shows the native Chromium dialogue asking me whether to keep the file (which reminded me that the same didn't show in the snapshot). Are you folks aware of this?

-
@DoctorG Yeah, sorry I didn't provide one.
Try either this or go for the Windows exe from docker.com. -
option translator website sometimes disappear
-
@sjudenim You do not have the Sessions Panel activated? ⇒ vivaldi://experiments/ , activate Enable Session Panel, close tab. Next edit Panel toolbar and drag the Sessions button onto panel bar.
-
It is active. That icon is not present in the editor otherwise
-
@sjudenim Try restart Vivaldi.
-
Already tried that, still nothing
