Where's the Delete Session button?

@paul1149
Confirmed!Cheers, mib

@paul1149 I reported some weeks ago
VB-95054 "Missing Delete button in Open Session window" - Confirmed.I set your report as related.
-
On the same Linux Snapshot version (.deb) and I have the Delete button. File/Open Saved Session...
-
Another issue is that deleting sessions does not actually delete their .bin files. I still have a folder full of them, whereas half of them should be gone.
-
@paul1149
Hi, I can confirm this on Linux, one session created/deleted today but .bin is still there.
Please report.Cheers, mib

Any progress on this? Have the same error.

I think there is no need to re-add a Delete button, you can use Sessions Panel.
-
Even if it is possible to delete a session via the sessions panel (just now I tried, and it works! hurrah! I had the same problem – which is why I looked for this discussion) – I think it would be good to have a delete button.
My own practice is to store a set of opened tabs in a session 'for later' (not 'forever') and after one or two weeksat the most I delete the stored session. So a delete button would be convenient.

@rzydenbos Upvote existing feature request "Bring back the delete button for "Open saved Sessions" window"
-
Yes please! I mistakenly forgot to click 'this window only' and ended up with a session of 209 tabs, instead of just six! I used to be able to delete a bad session, but I don't see how to do that now.

@DoctorG Why? What is the problem with having Open, Delete and Cancel buttons which are the 3 basic operations users need?

There is no problem for me. Vivaldi developers of user interface decided to have no Delete.

Hi DoctorG, I'm using sessions quite regularly, and sometimes I make the mistake of having a second window with more tabs in the second plane when I save the session. I would like to be able to delete those sessions I don't need, as otherwise. What's the point of having sessions if I have a mess when looking at my sessions? Shouldn't it be better if I delete the irrelevant ones to have them organised out of clog?
-
@DoctorG Is there any extensions to add a delete button in Vivaldi as clearly many people in the community don't have the same opinions from the developers? Thanks for your reply.
-
@Translucido So far I found this extension that can Save, Update and Delete sessions, also can save all the sessions to a file or loading from a file, which is very helpful if someone wants to do a backup of their sessions. It is not ideal because Chrome said "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions." but I couldn't find what practices are those.

@Translucido
Hi, we have a feature request for this but it have exactly 4 user votes since a Year.
It will not come back.https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/94006/bring-back-the-delete-button-for-open-saved-sessions-window
-
@mib2berlin Probably because the users didn't know they could vote?
-
@mib2berlin Checking in that forum I realised I can edit, organise and delete my sessions using the left panel, which is exactly what I needed. All the best.
