Solved Cannot login to facebook or twitter on one user profile

I cannot log into facebook or twitter on 2 of my 3 user profiles. I copied the Default profile as a base for profile 2, so really it's essentially a one-profile problem. The last profile was created clean and logs into both sites without problem. Brave and Chrome also have no problem.

disabling all extensions does not help.
ad/tracking blocking is turned off for the sites
opening a Guest window does work
From FB I get a "cannot process at this time" error.
From twitter the popover appears but remains blank. every 5 seconds a circular progress icon appears then disappears.

Clearly something in the profile is preventing the process from completing. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this.

I forced a new Preferences file, and that solved the issue. I'm sure I'll have to redo some of the settings, and apparently reinstall extensions.
