Status Bar has gone blank

I applied the latest build a few days ago, and I discovered that the status bar is now broken. The bar is still there -- if I go to View->Show Status Bar to toggle it, the empty mass of grey appears and disappears. However, there's nothing on it. All the buttons are gone.

If I right-click on the status bar, nothing happens.

If I go into the toolbar editor, it appears to show all the items there -- the camera, the status fields, the clock, but I don't seem to be able to make any changes here. Hitting 'reset' doesn't appear to do anything, either, although I have not done any customization here anyway.

I had 120 tabs open and thought that might be related, so I saved them all off to a Session and closed them all, then restarted -- no changes. I disabled all my extensions, including uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, then restarted -- no changes.

While checking the version, I noticed I was running the 32-bit build. This surprised me. I downloaded the x64 build, but it wouldn't install because 5.7.2921.53.x64 is older than the running 5.8.2936.3 (Official Build) (32-bit)

Any other ideas?

Hi, 5.8 is the snapshot (Beta version) of Vivaldi, 5.7 is stable.
Some user report blank status bar if address bar is at bottom but I cant find the thread anymore.
For 32/64 bit version, you can remove the 32 bit version and install the 64 bit 5.8 version. This doesn´t wipe your user data except you want to.
To be 100% save, backup your profile folder.
The path to the profile is published in File > Help > About

Interesting... I wonder how I got on the beta update channel? I don't see a setting for that.

My address bar is at the top in the usual place, but I DO put my tabs at the bottom and moving my tabs to the top causes the status bar to appear again.

I strongly suspect this is related to the issue you mentioned.

It looks like this is already reported as VB-95367. I've opened VB-95513, probably as a duplicate.

Hi, there are a few reports but tester and developer cant reproduce it.
I cant reproduce it, too.
If you can reproduce it in a clean profile I can try to repoen the report.
Create one, close all tabs, install and change nothing.
Then change tab bar to bottom.

OK, this was fixed with VB-95259, keep an eye of the report in one of the next snapshot change logs.
