This is where I set my sidebar, at the minimum exposure. Always have.

Since the most recent update when I open Vivaldi the sidebar defaults to this

Dragging it back to where I want it, even after reloading the page, has no effect. If I close Vivaldi and reopen it the sidebar has defaulted to this wider position.
      Previously it remembered my setting.

        Sorry for the trouble.
The issue has been reported and already confirmed internally.
