Upload Sync Disconnection Issue
-
Hi,
Recently I have discovered that my browser keeps loosing only the upload portion of the sync. I have to keep signing out and signing back in. This on both Ubuntu 22.10 & Windows 10 Professional. I have even tried to reset my remote data but that has not fixed the issue. Here is the sync internals data:
Any help with this would be gratefully accepted.
Thanks,

@mking90031 Hi, I think it's clear from your screenshot that the problem is ERR_TIMED_OUT.
So, a network timeout. Something is blocking your connection to
https://bifrost.vivaldi.com/vivid-sync
Since this is a standard port (https) I think it would be strange if such a port is blocked, but maybe some software on your system or local network is causing this, like anti-virus or firewall software.
If you go to the url manually, you should get a "Not Found" error, this is expected as it's a webservice endpoint, but could be a good test.

Hi,
Welcome to Vivaldi's Forums!Do that happens on the same Network?
It appears a Network Error as an Error message.
Do you use any PiHole or AdBlock at Router level?Any other system?
Check the connection to the BitFrost URL, (check at the image - Sync site), maybe a
Ping
is enough.--

Hi,
Yes they are on the same network & I am using VM's Hub 5 with no PiHole or AdBlock @ router level. BitFrost seems to be working as it should. Any other ideas? Shall I wait till 5.7 comes out?

Hi,
Here's my Sync-Internals with my Linx tablet connected to my mobile hotspot:
Any further ideas? My AcePC HDMI computer doesn't have a working wi-fi adapter. I connect via USB 3.0 Gigabit ethernet adapter.

Hi,
When connected to any broadband, including my home VM Gigabit broadband, it disconnects randomly. So it might have disconnected at some point even on my hotspot. I just didn't give it enough time.

If you have Chrome you can check it out there, same Sync-Internals
Off course, the servers are others a d G is a IG one but "to check" whether would be a Network related problem
I've not seen any micro shorts on many Profiles.

Hi,
Just done a couple of updates to latest version of Vivaldi but Ubuntu still seems to be disconnecting randomly. Windows seems to be stable.
Any advice gratefully accepted.

I am also facing the same issue.
It's between my Ubuntu 23.04 & Windows 10 Pro
Already reported a couple of times to the Vivaldi team. But still no response. -
@manikandan said in Upload Sync Disconnection Issue:
It's between my Ubuntu 23.04 & Windows 10 Pro
And between Debian 11/Ubuntu 22 and Windows 11, too.
Sync does not always work. Sometimes browser restart on each OS helped. -
Hi,
I'm still having issues with the Sync disconnecting the upload portion after a while on both Opensuse Tumbleweed and Windows 10. I am including a pic of the sync-internals report from last disconnection on my Opensuse system:
I hope someone can solve this issue as it's been ongoing for a LONG time.
Thanks,

@mking90031
Hi, I fear it is only on your systems, I run 12 Vivaldi installs on Windows 11 and Opensuse Tumbleweed and sync work as expected.
Two Android devices work, too.
It stuck sometimes for a few minutes but it work 100% after restart Vivaldi or Trigger GetUpdates manually. -
Hi,
I've tested this on multiple rebuilds of Opensuse Tumbleweed and Windows 10 and it keeps happening. My broadband is functioning fine for EVERYTHING else. Why is it JUST Vivaldi that seems to disconnect & only the upload and not both portions? Answer me that?? If it was just on one device then I could understand but I've rebuilt multiple times on both devices and it still happens on multiple connections.
