Maximize window cannot display floating Task Bar
-
I found a strange bug that I can't call out the Task Bar after the Vivaldi window is maximized.
I set the Task Bar in Windows 10 to automatically hide, and when the mouse moves to the top edge of the screen, the Task Bar will automatically extend.
But when I maximized the Vivaldi window, the automatic Task Bar didn't work. The mouse moved to the edge of the screen and nothing happened, I just pressed the Win key to call out the Task Bar.
I've tried restarting Vivaldi, and rebooting, the problem remains
Win10 22H2
5.6.2867.62 (Stable channel) (64-bit) -
It could be an upstream issue. I can reproduce it with Chrome (tested 112.0.5570.0).

The same problem here.
Win10 21H2
same Vivaldi Version but 32 bit
In the archiv of the German Forum is a thread with the same error from 2015:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/4942/vivaldi-verdeckt-maxmimiert-die-taskleiste?_=16752081617685 posts later in this thread is a workaround: you should disable the item: "use system-window" My item was disabled - so - just for fun - I enabled it. The bug is gone - But the complete menu is gone too.....
very strange.... -
@Poto It is a very old bug.
(VB-17670) Vivaldi Breaks Autohide of the Windows Taskbar
There is no problem if the task bar is at the bottom or sides.
-
@Pesala For the last years there was no bug at all. It occured a few weeks ago (now the second time)
I'm using Vivaldi since the beginning and Windows with an upside taskbar since you can drag it to the upside.....

Hi, VB-17670 is closed as "Can not reproduce".
It wasn't mentioned that the task bar is at top and it was caused by Vivaldi full screen mode.
Maybe one can test this with the latest snapshot, I can try on Windows 10 in a VM tomorrow.Cheers, mib

@Poto @overheater @pafflick @Pesala
Hi, I can reproduce it with the latest Vivaldi stable but not with the latest snapshot.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1s1A8A5F49gUC1eXkExcH4hRO_bt-91zi/view?usp=sharing
The snapshot is installed for user, the stable as standalone, both clean profiles.

@mib2berlin
Hello mib - thank you very much for the testing! Nice to hear, that this annoying bug has been fixed again......
Do you have an idea how long it will last till it comes as an update in the stable? -
@overheater
Hi, the last stable was published 4 weeks ago, regular cycle is 4-6 weeks.
May you check the blog from time to time, if the snapshots are published faster it will soon be time.https://vivaldi.com/blog/desktop/
Cheers, mib
