Fixes and improvements – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2914.3

@jakedfw
If it is, try to find the appropriate extension. You have an interesting avatar.
Self-drawn if you don't mind me asking? -
Tried it using a guest account with no extensions. Still happens.
I tried it on a guest account on the stable release, just to be sure, and like the stable release with extensions, it doesn't happen.
So this seems to be related exclusively to the snapshot.
Another note: This did not happen with the previous snapshot, so some kind of regression or code change must have created this, I think.
I created my avatar a very long time ago with an art filter on a photo of myself, back when filters just started being released. I believe the site was something like deepart.io or similar. It died a number of years ago.

I think so too.
Would be nice if you could write a Vivaldi bug message (VB).
So the Vivaldi stream can search for it. -

Beautiful, looks like drawn or painted.

@GT500 everyone, just read previous posts

@ian-coog: I did a find in page search on the blog comments for "extension", and there wasn't a single instance of it...
Edit: Weird, now there's 41 hits for "extension". Is that broken too?
-
@Pathduck Ah, ok, iAN-CooG found it, i overlooked it.
For me that is a Blocker bug as i can not type own URLs. -
@DoctorG I don't know if they will ever get the address bar editing working correctly... it seems to fix some things, and break others.
This time there is this issue, and also you can't edit urls from history/bookmarks, it just resets the url...
But it's OK, I can deal with it without going all ragequit stylee

I will try now in bookmarks editor or panel? The property url? Yes, is broken too

In the address bar, kind of tricky to reproduce but annoying when it happens. Just try getting some history by typing say "wiki" then try to edit part of the url. It will reset back to "wiki". I'll try to get a recording.

@Pathduck Yes, please report the bug to tracker! I will confirm.

That is not how posters in this forum are supposed to act!

Takes a while for me as always - I must make sure to make a good reproducible report with a video

@Pathduck VB-94849 was Confirmed by me.

Something else new in this snapshot I really don't like, makes it really hard to tell the difference between enabled or disabled site settings:
Versus the previous snapshot:
This is terrible UX for those with vision impairment or otherwise bad eyes.
But I'm guessing it's Chromium base code, so difficult to change.I made a report anyway:
VB-94859

Hi, some extensions not working is caused by a Chromium bug, the Service Worker stop working after some time.
Check vivaldi://serviceworker-internals and start the SW for your extension to test this.
Reported in the Vivaldi bug tracker as VB-94827.Cheers, mib
