de-clutter tab stack vertical pane
-
typically, i have about 70 tabs and 15-20 stacks active at any time. i tried using the 1st column + 2nd column tab list view, but that just wastes too much space and one ends up constantly resizing the width.
Please add a view option that only shows the active tab stack and its tabs in the vertical tabs pane.
So when I click on a tab which is in Stack A, the vertical tab panel, will switch to only show tabs from Stack A. The top line would navigate back to the overview of all stacks and stackless tabs.
This would declutter immensely, eliminate hunting and help with focus.
Firefox has this functionality with Simple Tab Groups add-on. Here is an example where one sees the overview of all tab stacks and any "free electron" tabs:
And here, is what one might see if one is currently in e.g. the "Site Dev" stack. It's clean and uncluttered and allows one to focus on the work at hand. New tabs would be opened within this stack.

@Kunjan Don't accordion tab stacks with autoexpand already offer that?
-
@Pesala No, the accordian opens within the same window so if you have many stacks everything still looks cluttered. Then the active stack opens up somewhere in the middle for example, depending on location, so we end up a paella of stacks and tabs.
It's really about de-cluttering so one can concentrate fully.
Thank you for the question.

@Kunjan You can already achieve this (to an extent) by reducing the size of the first column to a minimum. The added benefit is that you can quickly overview/switch to a tab outside the current tab stack. And if you want to focus on one tab stack and avoid distractions of other tabs, then I think you're actually looking for something like this.

@pafflick Why not enhance the vertical tabbar columns with automate width?
