Offline Mode?
-
I recently went through an irritating time with my internet service. It was down for hours, right when I had time to do some work on the computer.
I recall, in days gone by, browsers had an offline mode, where you could view site pages stored locally.
The data I needed to see was on a page I visited the day before. If I could just bring it up, the day wouldn't end up being a total waste.
Except I could not find anything in settings that corresponded to that. Maybe I just didn't look in the right place? -
@wchmara Hi, unfortunately there's no offline mode in modern browsers.
I don't know why - my guess is modern web sites would not work very well from cache. The web of today is a very different place than the web of two decades ago when such features existed.

Understood. Well, it's not likely to happen again. And if it does, I just have to find something else to do,
Thanks for the reply. -
@wchmara , maybe you can copy relevant info to the notes.

That's a darn good idea. I'll try to remember it when a similar situation arises.
Thanks! -

@Zalex108 That's a trick that has worked for me in the past. And I did try it again this last time. Unfortunately, this time it was as down as my normal connection.
It's still a good workaround to keep in mind for anyone who has a hotspot in their area. -
