Compact tab mode sometimes breaks tabs closing

More than one time I got into a situation when I was unable to close a tab and then even open a new tab, and both times compact tab mode was enabled. I closed the tab with middle click, it left on its place as a ghost, it wasn't clickable anymore, and after that other tabs also couldn't be closed and I was unable to open new tabs. To be correct, tab could be opened and closed, I saw that on Tabs side panel, but tab bar didn't reflect changes. Currently I don't know exactly how to trigger this bug quickly.
