Further address bar fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2887.3
-
Hello !
I may be the only one user "suffering" from this but since the last update, when the tab bar is set to the left of the screen, it is no longer cover by the web panels (meaning I still see the tab bar over the web panel...) Is it just me ? And if not, can this be corrected (like it used to always be), please ?--

Bug was marked as Fixed. I hope a next 5.7 Snapshot will get this fix.

Are sessions supposed to save periodic reload settings of tabs? Seems like this was the case but no longer. When I save a session with running periodic reloads, there are no periodic reloads when I reload the session from disk.
The Vivaldi startup session is not affected and seems to remember and reload the periodic reloads assigned to tabs from when Vivaldi was last shutdown.
-
@deneban For me, periodic reloads are not remembered for sessions, nor when restarting with the last session.

Hello, I noticed that from the last interface change title bar size stays the same regardless of the zoom level I apply in the Interface zoom section.
-
@zavalita2002 A known issue.
-
That's nice.
-
@Pesala We shouldn't be having different behaviors (aka the startup session). I wonder why is that.
It was the case before in Vivaldi that periodic reloading was reactivated when loading a session from disk saved with periodic reloading active. Somehow this feature has been dropped along the way, perhaps to prevent other side-effects.
Going to ask as a feature request. A Vivaldi design principal is to avoid having to use extensions because its features pre-empt the need of extensions. In this case an extension would provide a functionality that Vivaldi does not (dropped intentionally or by accident), and so it would be a viable feature request (i.e. an extension would trigger a periodic reload by the web address rather than by session reload, as did Vivaldi, and by and large serve the same purpose).

Should be easy enough to test and confirm. Just download an older version from the archive and install as Standalone, use that for testing. How far back you'd have to go I wouldn't know - you're the one remembering this "used to work".
https://vivaldi.com/download/archive/If you can show it works as expected in an older version, then it's simply a regression and should be reported as such.
-
@Pathduck If it proves to be an accidentally dropped feature, where does one report "regressions"?
-
@deneban Just like one reports regular bugs. If a regression it might be an idea to specify it in the report, along with the last version it worked as expected in.
