Account Blocked During Vivaldi.net login. I was worry there for a second.

I'm not really sure where this post fits best. I leave this to the community mods. <<
In trying to log into https://vivaldi.net/ I was greeted with the last message that I'd hope to never ever get. I got a red box stating that my account had been blocked. The exact wording were around "This account has been Blocked"
Though my posting history on the forums is not much, I do learn a lot by lurking and love the browser and the community behind it. The message threw me off as I'd no idea why my account would be blocked.
I tried a different browser, Firefox, and I was able to successfully login into https://vivaldi.net/ and the forums.
Now I'm wondering what could have triggered the blocked message. My Vivaldi oddons/mods are way much less than those on Firefox yet no issues loggin into Vivaldi.net and forums.
While making this post I've come to notice that some how my vivaldi account is no longer singed-in on Vivaldi Browser for sync.
Could the account blocked message presented to me on https://vivaldi.net/ login page had been triggered by Vivaldi Browser? I've no idea why sync account is no longer logged in. The browser itself seems to be working fine.
I hope the profile isn't corrupted. I would need to find time to deal with it. -
@VENIX Well… can you login to sync on the browser? Try that.
-
@luetage No. I can't login in Vivaldi Browser for to activate sync. It looks like the profile has become corrupted.
If so, I wonder why this happens. This is like the 3rd time it happens (throughout the years with vivaldi)Thought I don't see a connection between the 2 but who knows.
Even thought I'm logged in, my main concern being the login message. This got me thinking that for such case, is there a way to get in contact with the Vivaldi Team. Yes, there is. It is kind of hidden but a direct contact form does exist.
-
@VENIX Yeah, use this form before you take more drastic measures and wait for a reply. Should sync be lost it is no big deal as long as you have an instance with your data saved somewhere. Sync can simply be reset and you populate it from one of your instances. But yeah, seems like your problem goes deeper.

Hmm, I while back I had a very similar problem to the one you described. I was trying to log in to the forum from my phone (using Orion), when I was very alarmingly greeted with the same "This account has been Blocked" message. As you might have guessed, that really gave me quite the scare.
Though in my case, it turned out that I wasn't blocked at all. I have no idea why the login page was throwing that message, but I did figure out that it was being triggered only when I tried to use Orion's autofill feature.
Once I stopped lettting Orion autofill my account details into the login page, I was able to log in just fine.
Though it is very weird that the autofill of the browser would trigger this message.
-
@AltCode Interesting. I did use Bitwarden to autofill the login credentials but this had not been an issue before.
Thanks for sharing

@luetage Thanks.
Today I came to check out and find more info on vivaldi's implementation of mastodon -Vivaldi social- but ended up running into this issue.I will just wait till later on today and do a fresh vivaldi install.
-
Didn't know about another browser. Once I also was blocked by unknown for me reason and I had to create new account.
-
@VENIX I went ahead and did a fresh Vivaldi installation.
I'm able to login into SYNC and this is working as expected.
Furthermore, I'm posting directly from Vivaldi and was able to login into vivaldi.net and the forums without any issues.SYNC brought back all the addons I was using before so I do not know if the login issue was on the forum side or on the browser side.
I'm just glad that my account is working smoothly.
