Tab operations are very slow

Step to reproduce.
Open a slow to load web site such as a youtube video page in a new tab and immediately press ctrl + w to close it. Compared to browsers such as google chrome, it is very slow. -

Does other tab operations are slow for you too?
Crtl+T opens a tab immediately, for example.
Depends on your system specs this can be GPU/driver or, mostly, extensions.

I tried it in guest view just now.
It seems every operation becomes slow(actually stuck) when it is loading a page. Maybe clearing a cache and opening a new youtube video page might reproduce the issue for you because it'll take more time to load. (my network is also slow)My device is pretty low end. (intel whiskey lake with igpu).
But opening the same page in google-chrome isn't slow at all and never blocks other operations.Thanks for the support.

Hm, clearing cache change nothing, I hit Ctrl+W before any preview is loaded, anyway.
Vivaldi is clearly slower than other Chromium browser because of the extra UI layer. Most Vivaldi features are coming from this with the cost of performance.
On my systems, specs in my signature, I don´t notice that.
Vivaldi is as fast as Chrome, more or less.

Big history
Many tabs open
Extensions
Remove web panels you don´t need
Open settings page
