@eb110americana
Hi, some user report issues with cut off Vivaldi UI in maximized state.
Can you test this, please?Cheers, mib

5.6.2867.50 (Stable channel) (64 бита)
This problem is gone -
No issue for me. I'm using 5.6.2867.50 with Windows 10.
-
Just to throw fuel on the fire here:
I actually liked having no border and would like there to be a (even if it's hidden) setting to get no border back. I tried to use a CSS hack but it didn't seem to work. -
Issue should be fixed in 5.6.2867.50 Stable for OS older than Windows 11.

@mib2berlin
I am experiencing this issue. Maximized window on Vivaldi 5.6.2867.50 64-bit, on Windows 7 64-bit.
Maximized window, the Vivaldi browser extends beyond maximum screen size, similar to screen overscan on TVs.
Browser was not exhiubiting this behavior yesterday, 12/20/2022, but as of first open open waking computer dfeom sleep mode 12/21/2022, it is.Monitor resolution is 2560x1440. Looking for a solution in a different thread, before search brought me to this one, I experimented with Use Native Window, which fixes the issue but at the cost of adding the Windows tabs on top of all submenu boxes and popups for Vivaldi.
Correct window position, manually adjusted without maximized window:
Maximized window, incorrect positioning:

Maximize glitch (with glitchy border) was added in 2883.3 and ignored by developers in 2887.3.

@Vort
Hi, it is not ignored, this is a different bug and a fix is in progress.
@butcherike
Hi, keep an eye on the next change logs of the snapshot builds if the fix is included, bug number VB-93916.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin said in Window is missing the border and drop shadow:
this is a different bug
I mean that 2883.3 added two bugs: clipped UI in maximized state and non-symmetrical border in non-maximized state.
Are you talking about some other, third, bug? -
@Vort
No, one bug was fixed and one is in progress. -
@mib2berlin
I am not experiencing this new issue. I tried maximizing with the status bar, and it looks correct, no clipping in Windows 10. -
@eb110americana
Hi, this is a Windows 7 problem, not 10/11.
As Windows 7/8.1 support is kicked in a few weeks this was may one of the last fixes for these Windows versions anyway.Cheers, mib

@barbudo2005 Why? Because some of us, like me, do work that requires us to run multiple programs simultaneously and they don't all need to be full-width, full-screen, etc. Same for browser windows. Some are small, others are bigger depending on need and usage. People who have never known anything except Microsoft's "split screen" need to realize that that's one of the stupidest "features" ever invented. So yes, Vivaldi browser windows with no borders is and has been a massive nightmare for me. I hope that answers your question.

@SerebraSana I see a drop shadow on the Vivaldi Window, though it is not as obvious as those on the windows of other applications.
