Youtube Music PWA not able to download app in new version

Hello,

I had no issue using youtube music app on MAC and i did update to latest version Vivaldi 5.5.2805.42 and also updated to MAC OS Ventura and i do not see the option to download youtube musci app from browser.

I can see it working in chrome but not on vivaldi or firefox. did someone run into this? any inputs would be great

@chandu143403 Hi, no problems installing YT Music as an app here. But on Win10. Shouldn't work any differently on MacOS though.

Check vivaldi://apps if maybe already installed?

I did see youtube music installed under vivaldi apps and i removed it as per your video and i still cannot see the download option. screenshot attached. Not sure if im missing anything

@chandu143403 Hi - I didn't really mean you should delete the App if it already existed there. Then it was probably already installed and you could have created a shortcut on Desktop for instance from there.

Strange, you should see the "Install YouTube Music" option. Maybe it's different on MacOS. Or it somehow doesn't detect that the site can be installed as an app.

Can you install other sites as PWAs?

Try using "Create Shortcut" instead, it "forces" PWA creation. Make sure to select "Open as window" if that's what you want, like regular PWAs.

Thanks much @Pathduck . I deleted the app as it was not letting me create an app or shortcut and thought reinstalling might help. Re install wont pop up but after few minutes youtube music app appears under vivaldi://apps automatically.

You should move it to the Trash." and But I was able to download it on previous releases MACOS also before these 2 upgrades of browser and mac upgrade so im suspecting it might be one of those

So some users that have upgraded to Ventura also got this. And are unable to get it working again.

They've deleted the app from vivaldi://apps and reinstalled. But this error pops up in Mac OS X still.

That seems to be the same issue as this YouTube issue.

I am having this issue as well and, in fact, all PWAs are showing this same message. The ones tested were: Stadia, YouTube Music, YouTube TV, and Messages (Google Messages on the web). All bring up that message. I've completely removed them from Vivaldi and added them back but the message remains. My current theory is that perhaps macOS Ventura is blocking PWAs from any browser except Safari but I'm not sure how to go about testing that theory. Creating PWA shortcuts from Safari doesn't prove blocking, just that they're working in Safari.

EDIT: Quick update, apparently Safari doesn't support installing PWAs so that's probably not the case.
