Google Classroom and Images
-
I’m not sure this is specific to Linux, but it is where I use Vivaldi (Fedora 36).
It’s a bit of a weird issue: I can use Google Classroom fine but, when checking assignments, images submitted by students don’t load—PDFs work fine.
After some trials (disabling extensions, enabling and disabling privacy settings, starting from clean settings), it comes down to this: images only load when my work account is registered first. If I log into my personal account first then my work account, I get the problem—configuration appears to be completely irrelevant.
Interestingly, I experienced the same problem around the same time on Vivaldi’s Android version, but that solved itself around the time of the latest major update. I still experience the same issue on the desktop.

@Gragt Hi - hard for me to test as I don't use Google Classrooms (and on Windows...)
But check your cookie settings. In my experience, Google stuff often requires cookies from
googleusercontent.com
and breaks if 3rd-party cookies are blocked. Also please try all the troubleshooting steps, including testing in a clean profile and disabling extensions:

Hi @Pathduck and thank you for your answer.
On further testing, it doesn’t seem to be a Vivaldi problem but a Google one.
I did try all the steps and the only thing that did make a difference was whether my work account was logged in before or after my personal Google account. Even keeping my Vivaldi settings as they currently are, I could make the problem go away by simply logging out of both accounts and logging into the work one first.
While I did go through all the troubleshooting steps, my mistake is that I didn’t completely reproduce the situation on another browser (Firefox). With only my work account logged in, things worked as intended, but when I logged into my personal account and then my work account, the same problem appeared on Firefox.
Sorry for the trouble. It doesn’t seem to be related to Vivaldi at all. At least that got narrowed down.
