I heard you wanted a Friday snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2797.3

Please read the change log if you use the snapshot.
I did read the changelog, and in my experience unless the issue is mentioned among known issues, it's always better to remind that it still exists.

FOLLOW-UP: I am sorry to say that even with the latest snapshot, the problem is not 100% fixed. When Vivaldi opens up in fullscreen mode, the problem is GONE. Vivaldi opens up beautifully in fullscreen mode. No problem. BUT when it opens in a non-fullscreen window, it starts up cold with no window animation. Granted, there is no Windows 7 border, but the lack of a proper opening animation makes for a jarring transition into the Vivaldi interface. I'd say that this problem needs more polishing. So, not quite gone, as I thought it was. To be continued, I suppose ... @Ruarí

After this snapshot installation, sponsored speed dials constantly reappear after every browser restart even after deleting them. Is there a fix for this?
-
@Apocolypto Are you logged in to sync?

Sometimes I've seen bugs being fixed without explicitly noting
Yes, such can happen if bugs were fixed by upstream Chromium core dev team.
And sometimes after a update tester team can not reproduce a issue anymore and report gets closed as "Can not Reproduce" – such closed issues do not get into a changelog.Bug reporters should check their reports and reply to report mail when their issue was fixed in a current version. That makes it easier to close many older bug reports. Vivaldi has not hundreds of testers to check all old bugs.
-
@doctorg: Fair enough. Will keep that in mind. Thank you.
-
@killchain We (devs and volunteer testers) are a small team.
-
@ayespy: Yes, I am.

@Apocolypto These unwanted bookmarks may be being downloaded from the synchronization server. To cure this, one would delete the offending material, clear trash, and then use the setting under sync to "Reset Remote Data." If you do this, you will have to chose a new 12-character encryption password. Make sure it is something you can remember or write it down. After you reset remote data, and after all of your local data is once again uploaded, you will need to go to your other device, log out from sync, and log in again. When you do it will log in but want your new encryption/decryption password. Be ready to input that.

On this release, upper bar doubled (see French group)

Oh, I just noticed that this new snapshot introduced a new experiment
I wonder what it does
-
@AltCode Good find!
I have no idea what it does, I tried enabling it in a clean snapshot install, restarting, and when starting up again the setting was again disabled...
Maybe it's something to do with React portals?

@AltCode Our dev said:
new windowing-system using React-portals. (Note this is yet not safe for builds with mail and other sensitive data.) enable through vivaldi://experiments
Beware, some experiments can cause data loss!
-
@DoctorG What it will be used for? The name alone is quite scary, I won't enable it for sure
-
@Hadden89 Do not use it, it is very, very, very experimental and unstable.
-
@DoctorG Good thing I didn’t enable it. I too found the name and info to be rather frightening.
-
I heard you wanted a Friday snapshot
Yes, also a drop-down bookmark menu please
-
The old annoying problem is finally fixed!
On a 1st Vivaldi launch you can use arrows keys to select SD thumbnails!This option should be enabled
-
Since the previous two builds smooth scrolling doesn't work unless I enable it in Flags. Anyone else? Windows 11 x64.
