Address bar improvements – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2794.3
-
@ImStillAnOperaFanBoy I can see this now, too, with my Snapshot. Sorry.
Sad, Chromium 105.0.5195.102 has rounded PiP.
Is a Vivaldi issue. Please report issue to Vivaldi tracker
-
@doctorg: OK.
-
@mozzer You need to check "User Native Windows" in Apparence and restart... the new snapshot will show twice the title and the window control buttons.
No extension installed.Edit - In Windows 10 btw.

@Edmarcio Please report issue to Vivaldi tracker.
I will confirm the bug in tracker. -
Version is 5.5.2794.3 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I'm seeing some anomalous behavior after today's update.
I now have a second menu title bar below the main bar, Both have the usual Windows minimize, windowed (of FS) mode, and close. Both function the same. I can't get rid of the errant second bar.
Also, I use the horizontal menu and when set, every time I click on view, it returns to the "V" icon mode. That's a new bug. Also, clicking a menu item causes the menu to open and then immediately close. It should remain open until you mouse down and select an item. You have to hold down the left mouse button and scroll to select something and then release.
Are these new bugs or is there something else going on.
Windows 10 Pro and updated to the latest M$ patches.

@mib2berlin the
Guest View
(in my case) never opens inNative Window
mode, so of course it's not affected.Apart from the additional title bar, mouse clicks are registered at an offset (even on UI and internal pages) and the text is blurry (mismatch of actual/reported viewport?).
@Ruarí I'd consider the native UI mode in this Snapshot as effectively unusable.
-
It's a mess alright...
I'm seeing the same, double window title bars on the main window and even on the settings window. Also the horizontal menu is broken now. If you click it then a menu item opens and disappears immediately. Click on view and it goes to icon mode. Click to get it back and it repeats. Any other menu item opens and immediately closes activating the first item unless you hold the mouse button and scroll to the item and then release.
Windows 10 Pro and all of the latest patches.
Hopefully there is a fix shortly as this isn't the way it used to work. Very annoying behavior.

@DoctorG bug report VB-91670

@rskunath
Hi, the snapshot are there to find bugs before the stable release.
The bug is reported and will be fixed, no timeline as usual.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin: Yep, just anted to report it.
I can confirm that the Linux build works fine. I don't see any of the issues I reported on that build.
-
@Ruarí nothing changed for (VB-81478), the problem still exist

I'm on W7 and the horizontal menu has always had that problem for me, until the recent W11 changes ended up changing the blue Chromium-style border to an really-native Windows-style border. I had added no-action menu items to the top of each menu once the menu editor was added, to avoid accidentally clicking the top options.

Doesn't launch.
I reverted to stable release.I can't find any logs for Vivaldi snapshot 2794.3 to why it doesn't run. It will be awesome if someone could tell where I can find it.

I reverted to stable release.
Do not use profile of 5.5 Snapshot with a 5.4 Stable, such downgrade can cause strange issues and broken profiles.
-
@DoctorG unfortunately not fixed I tested it yesterday
-
@DoctorG I had no choice.
At least stable works perfectly. And snapshot does not even launch. Without any logs I can't fix this.
-
@jarzyna You should install Stable and Snapshots (on Windows as Standalone, Linux and Mac: they use different profile folders) separately.
