Amazon Error: "We're sorry, but an error has occurred. Please reload this page and try again."
-
Also have noticed that if I have visit an Amazon page that has a "we're sorry" message...and leave that page open for a while...say an hour...the pages will sometimes work normally. If I close and open Vivaldi again all items will have the "we're sorry" message again.
-
I am currently using Vivaldi snapshot 5.5.2805.21, and Amazon.ca and Amazon.com are working normally now without the "We're sorry, but an error has occurred. Please reload this page and try again." message on most pages. All my extensions are enabled.
-
Now on Vivaldi version 5.6.2824.8. Amazon is showing the "We're sorry, but an error has occurred. Please reload this page and try again." on all non-clothing items. Not sure when this happened. Tried downgrading to 5.5.2805.21 but no change. Tried the "reset settings" in "chrome://settings" which performs: Restore settings to their original defaults, Reset Vivaldi settings and Vivaldi shortcuts, Disable extension, Delete cookies and other temporary site data. Tried deleting browser data with no change. Very frustrating.

Never downgrade in the same profile. Install Stable and Snapshot separately, and use the older Stable version if you cannot cope with the bugs in the Snapshot.
I install the Stable build for All Users, and the Snapshot as a Standalone in a separate folder.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have now installed Vivaldi 5.5.2805.38 stable for all users and the 5.6.2824.8 snapshot as standalone. Both versions have the Amazon Error: "We're sorry, but an error has occurred. Please reload this page and try again."

@scottsan This is an Amazon problem. It comes and goes. Users across the web have been reporting it for at least six months. UK and Canada seem to have it a lot more than the US, for instance. I have never seen it, and am on the Amazon site for one reason or another daily.

I'm having the same problem with Amazon UK
The problem started when I rolled back my system to an early system backup, dated 2 months ago (then updated Vivaldi).I get the same problem if I use a new profile in Vivaldi as well.
I use Kaspersky Internet Security. If I disable "Web Anti-Virus" the web page loads OK.
(Adding any exception for Amazon UK doesn't make any difference). If I download FireFox and use a new profile and don't disable "Web Anti-Virus" in Kaspersky, the page loads OK too.
So one one hand, the problem is Vivaldi and on the other the problem is Kaspersky's settings.

Hi, if you can reproduce it constantly it is good for report a bug to the Vivaldi bug tracker.
If Chrome and Edge does the same it is a Chromium bug and the Vivaldi developer cant do much to solve it.
Can you check this, please?Cheers, mib

I've just tried Edge (default settings), no problem loading the page.
A clean install of Chrome (default settings), the page gives the same error message. -

Hm, maybe the Microsoft guys add a workaround but if Chrome not work it is a Chromium issue.
I am still curious why this happen, Chrome and Kasperski are widely used.
No idea if it make sense to report it to Vivaldi, they cant do anything about it anyway.
Edge is now your new Amazon workhorse.Cheers, mib
