Gmail link to third party site fails "not secure"
-
I'm trying to open a legitimate link through gmail and it's failing to load with "not secure". I've tried clear cache/cookies, incognito, and other browsers.
The link when I click goes to https://www.google.com/url?q=http://email.teamsnap.com(...).
I've also tried removing the google portion and going direct to the email.teamsnap.com portion, that wouldn't work either.
I also went into security settings for google.com and teamsnap and chose allow insecure content as a test - still fails.
The one thing that did work, aside from other browsers, is editing the url to use https://email.teamsnap.com - this at least gives me a page indicating I'm being redirected to the full url and asks me if I want to proceed.
Once I proceed, then I get a warning about an insecure link and I can go through advanced to proceed to the site. Is the issue the non-https redirect, the redirect itself, or non-https?
Is there a setting I can change that will allow this to work like other browsers? I've worked around the issue for now, without needing to change my browser, but I'd like to get this to work more seamlessly without creating a significant security hole (site specific settings?).
Thanks in advance

@jacobmajors http://email.teamsnap.com is broken and does not connect because it has no website attached - server-sided error!
https://email.teamsnap.com will not connect because the SSL certificate is wrong and may be foreged. -
the teamsnap url is much longer, I used the ellipses because of that and the important part looked to be the http versus https from what I've encountered.

@jacobmajors test with 5.4.2753.40: for me with your long URL i get a Google page, telling me that i am redirected and after clicking link in Google page gives me login page of https://go.teamsnap.com/login/signin

@jacobmajors
hello and welcome here!
Have fun with the browser and in the forum. -
I'm continually seeing similar behavior with links from gmail showing not secure and failing to load.
Opening the same link in incognito window and the url changes to remove the google.com portion and changes to https for the primary link. I still get a page that the site emlinks.cars.com is insecure, but I'm able to proceed.
This is the same behavior I often see with links in gmail, enough that I'm considering switching browsers. Using the exact link within Google Chrome works and directs me to the related https://www.cars.com/ site. What is Vivaldi doing differently?

Disabling the setting to "Always use Secure Connection (HTTPS)" allows sites to load without any issues. This setting would be preferred, in the interest of security, but flagging sites as not secure and not providing a mechanism to easily proceed is not ideal.
The current implementation encourages users who run into this to create a number of site exceptions (if those even work) or disable the setting entirely.
Default behavior on other browsers either allow the sites to load, or provide a warning and ask if you'd like to proceed if you trust the site.
This is solved, but not ideal.
