Could you please stop messing with refresh button?
-
Not too long ago you put a bookmark button where refresh button was. It was hell, and was switched back quickly. Options is not exactly as obnoxious, but I still really want that refresh to be where it used to be.
I want to be able to refresh with double clicking the V button, because I use it a ton and I very rarely want to touch the settings.
And I want to be able to stop loading by doubleclicking it, because it beats some paywalls, and I probably can not do it fast enough if I have to search where the button is.You have a good browser, but please do not fuck up basic functionality. I'm 100% willing to switch browsers for this.
Why would settings be there anyway? Do you not have enough people going to settings? If it is not going to be returned, can we please at least have a setting to order the buttons? Is there one? I don't even know because I do not want to go to the settings!

@Kaukamieli Most people reload by swiping from top I assume.
-
@luetage That only works if you are at the top of the page, so you have to go there and find relevant stuff again. The button keeps you where you were. Like I am reading a story on spacebattles, and I see I have to refresh because some site functions sometimes require that to be used, so I lose where I was in the story and have to go up a ton and then back down and find where I was. That's not good.

@Kaukamieli
Hi, I cant remember when I use the refresh button ever but I fiddle with settings very often.
There is a feature request about already with 4 votes but I guess the UI team and the developer don´t change this again, I fear.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin tried to search, but didn't find the request. Could you link please? If they love options that much, then just let us order the buttons in the options or something... I'm fine it not being the default if I can just have it.
-
@mib2berlin Oh you mean thst two years old one in "done"? That was my post from the last time it happened.
-
@Kaukamieli I agree refresh needs to be as a long press V = refresh. (Settings is irrelevant and pointless in that position).
Please rectify for absolute ease of use. Thanks.

An option to customize order of buttons and menu would be better solution. Unfortunately, Vivaldi Android still lacks many features Vivaldi Desktop has.
-
@belenus Feature parity will never be achieved. I don’t know why you would expect that.
-
Making my first post here just for this.
Why would you move the buttons around and mess with people's muscle memory. And it is not realistic to pull down to refresh when you're far down in a long page. As mentioned above, then you have to scroll all the way back up, then back down after the refresh and waste time finding your place.
At least make it customizable before doing this...
-
@luetage Who says about parity? Desktop and mobile are very different, but can share customizable menus and button. I don't know where Vivaldi's mobile road leads, but I feel that the road becomes slower and bumpier with every new version since 5.2.

I'm quite please with the latest arrangement of icons for basic browsing actions.
- Backwards through the standard Android gui Back icon
- Forwards via Vivaldi icon + Forward icon
- Refresh either swipe down or Vivaldi icon + Refresh icon
- Share via Tap url + Share or Vivaldi icon + Share
They're all one or two taps away.
With the limited screen space on a mobile phone we can't have dedicated icons for these or I'd be in need of a second row, which would steal me canvas for the webpage I want to view. -
The changes were made based on user feedback, but we quickly realised that many people actually liked and were used to the previous layout in the menu.
Since we're all about giving you options, we're currently working on multiple menu layouts you'll be able to choose from. The previous one being one of the available options. -
@jane-n I am actually confused by the rather prominent position of the Download button after pressing the Vivaldi icon. I cannot remember ever having downloaded a webpage. I'd gladly loose that one.
