Glitches with Nvidia studio drivers
-
Hello,
I've been using Vivaldi for a very long time already and it's very stable so far. About a month ago, I switched from the game ready drivers to the studio drivers for my GTX 1050 TI (work PC used for electronic CAD with Altium Designer). So far I've had three studio driver updates and each one of them has issues with Vivaldi, or rather, Vivaldi has issues with the studio driver (as no other program has this issue).
You can see how the popup is completely glitched. This doesn't usually happen when the browser is actively used, but it definitely happens when Vivaldi is out of focus. Text seems to become “corrupted” and less readable, and sometimes graphical glitches (double rendered text elsewhere).I already tried forcing software rendering on 2D objects, but that didn't help.
Is there a fix for this that wouldn't require me to go back to the game ready drivers?

Hi, you can try to disable VSync in the Nvidia settings.
Iirc it is possible to deactivate it for Vivaldi only but you can test it test global first.Cheers, mib

@FPSUsername Some GSync/VSync and/or FXAA anti-aliasing settings of graphics drivers can cause such effects.

Forcefully disabling vsync (normally set to let the 3D program decide) does not solve the issue.
Disabling triple buffering doesn't solve the issue either. All settings in the control panel are left at their default values.
Note that this only happens once I leave the window be, it is perfectly fine for the first couple of seconds.

I cant test this on Nvidia anymore but iirc some user disable 2D canvas to fix broken fonts, check out.vivaldi://flags/#disable-accelerated-2d-canvas

Actually, it seems to not solve the issue completely. I just randomly got it again, but the issue doesn't exist as often gladly.
