Bug: Bookmark's Title Incorrect Post Tab-Hibernation
-
It's a very random and weird (and oftentimes non-reproducible) bug. Basically,
- Open a link (I've mostly experienced it with Youtube video links).
- Click on some other link on the website (like the Youtube icon on the top left that takes you back to Youtube's home page).
- Click some other links a couple of times.
- Go Backwards (and Forwards) a couple times (preferably using the Vivaldi's Back navigation button).
- Finally, click the Bookmark icon on the page you're at. Most likely the Title of the bookmark would be wrong, and would instead be the title of the page you were at many clicks ago...
It doesn't bother much; simply un-bookmark the page and refresh it and then bookmark it again to get the correct Title in the bookmark. But one has to double-check the Title of the Bookmark saved every time one bookmarks a page, which, for someone like me who uses the Bookmarks feature of browsers a bit too much (me got 4000+ bookmarks) can take a toll on productivity and flow... Not to mention the paranoia not having the right title for your bookmark entails for someone who frequently searches through the Bookmarks Manager (which makes use of the words in the Title and URL of the saved Bookmarks, I think).
Vivaldi is such a great browser; I remember feeling so blissful the first time I found and installed it (and blissful ever since; every moment of using it is pure joy; it honestly is the best (and in some late future, probably the only one) installable software to be installed on top of an OS. Felt like giving back.
[Also, another suggestion: when opening dot HTML files locally, maybe Vivaldi should ask which profile to open it in... I also extensively use the "Hibernate Background Tabs" feature, and in general am in love with Vivaldi's philosophy of not hesitating away from complexity & clutter and instead giving users all the options and controls they can be (and should rightfully be) given control of. Chrome sucks in that regard. Brave is utter garbage. Vivaldi is the best; it so feels like a full-blown dark-themed IDE for surfing the web; LOL. The only concern I've heard people express is it not being open-sourced. But like, it sure does use good e2e encryption in storing notes and bookmarks and all that; not to mention even Chrome, I think, ain't open-sourced (chromium might be). So yeah, not a big deal. Keep up the good work, devs! Glad the in-browser mail client issue got resolved a couple weeks ago... Also, please never remove the tab-hibernation feature... Love you!]
EDIT: Found how to reproduce it.
- Go to a Youtube video.
- Go to some other tab and "hibernate all background tabs".
- Go back to the video tab.
- In the searchbar, type some text and hit Enter.
- From the results page, click some video.
- Bookmark.
The Bookmark's title would be the title of the first Youtube video you were at, at Step 1, not the one you were currently at.

@TheAMan006 Wrong bookmark title for a video from Youtube list is a known issue.
Bug: VB-90350 "Bookmarking on Youtube saves the wrong name and description" - Confirmed.
