Poor perfomance and Metal disabled
-
Overall compare to Safari and Firefox (which reported of using Metal API) Vivaldi's web-rendering is very slow. Same with benchmarks. It's worth to say that chrome:gpu shows "Metal disabled". I haven't find any data why is it disabled and how to enable it.

@mrmac189 Have you tried vivaldi://flags? Search for „Metal“ and enable in „Choose ANGLE graphics backend“. I haven’t tried this, don’t want to break stuff, so I don’t know if it’s is functioning.

@Thot I did. No changes

Then unfortunately I don't know what to do, sorry.

Metal support in Chromium is still in testing
Metal“ and enable in „Choose ANGLE graphics backend“ <- that is not stable it is one of the experiments (in snapshot builds which are based on Chromium 104 it will make the GUI and pages glitchy unreadable at the moment)
You can try using the native window setting and also no GUI animations
See if that improves performance
