@npro
I only have simple programming knowledge, I'm not a professional programmer, so I don't know how that patch file works and won't modify it. Others I can manually modify the version number of the rpm package and calculate the checksum and replace it. -
@ruarí: excellent, i like the internal report it gave me before closing its really useful
-
@Aaron you don't have to be a professional programmer to do stuff like that, just use the user tools your OS provides you, it's in your own interests studying the wiki which is the OS manual.
In that case the manual states:
Foo in the AUR is outdated; what should I do? See #Flagging packages out-of-date.
In the meantime, you can try updating the package yourself by editing the PKGBUILD locally. Sometimes, updates do not require changes to the build or package process, in which case simply updating the pkgver or source array is sufficient.then study the PKGBUILD, the makepkg options, the manual of your favorite AUR helper in case you use one, for example yay
Otherwise you can just use an external repo like
herecura
(pinned comment), where you 'll have to wait until the package shows up, or use a typical distro which serves packages "automatically" (via external repos again but official) like openSUSE Tumbleweed for example, if you prefer the rolling model. -
@newscpq Same exact crash and I uninstalled and reverted to the stable release until y'all get this fixed.
-
I can finally stream SiriusXM on Vivaldi! But the stream was skipping around with each song. I went into the SirusXM site's application settings and set the stream quality to "maximum" and now it plays fine!

Others
Here's the thing. If even a numpty like moi could learn how to do this [under the tutelage of @npro, see our Arching V thread], then truly any Arch or Archie user also can. By running the command i pasted earlier, you merely need to edit the nano file that opens to replace the two instances of the older V# with the latest V#, save it, & proceed. It automagically does the rest for you! Honestly, IMO it's pretty lubbly jubbly.

the built-in panel is normal, and an error occurs when opening the custom panel
OK, but it's now a bright sunny new winter's day here, with the Friday Snappie due now tomorrow
that's gonna solve this bug
. Given last night i rolled-back to
5.4.2704.3
which seems not to have that bug, IMO i don't need to bother trying this "Bonus" Snappie again then have to keep dodging around the bug. IMO sometimes a tactical retreat leads eventually to winning the bigger prize. -
Terribly anxious news! We need to storm the 42 storey gold-plated V office tower HQ, capture the management, & demand they immediately cease such frivolous distractions & instead get back to work on our Fri Snappie!
-
@guigirl I have a feeling a new snappie is just around the corner... and I don't mean the crocodile...
-
@guigirl Snappie users incoming! Waaaghh!

There's now 3 hrs 50 minutes til Fri in the more exclusive parts of the rock. Ergo, within 5 minutes of that time, i fully expect to be downloading my new Snappie.
I see no problems of logic, practicality or reality whatsoever in this plan.

Seems like address bar did't have any color accent of drop list selector…
Or am I blinded?
The only indicator is theat the end.
Exempli gratia:
-
@Gif2D That is a known bug with dark themes and was internally confirmed by me.
-
@DoctorG Oh, a workaround is available already!
@killchain said in Bonus snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2706.3:CSS workaround for the missing highlight in the address field dropdown (covers selecting with arrow keys and pointing with the mouse):
.OmniLinkItem--Highlighted, .OmniLinkItem:not(.OmniLinkItem--Highlighted):hover { background-color: var(--colorHighlightFgAlphaHeavy); }
-
@Gif2D Yes, but only for users who know how to patch browser CSS

Problem in managing gmail accounts. Although I can connect, receive and send mails through Vivaldi mail, I cannot reach the account settings through the browser. I get a message that there is a problem and I have to try later, refresh or connect with another account. That occurs with all 4 of my gmail accounts.
-
@nutcracker I'm not able to reproduce this. Web access to full settings of all 3 of my gmail accounts is unobstructed.
-
@ayespy: https://imgur.com/a/0vJVqYN
This is shown for 3 of my accounts (the same happens with all the others) when clicking on the avatar to change settings
Translation from Greek: A problem was encountered, Reload to retry or choose another account.
I find no problem when changing accounts. I also do not have problems receiving mail through Vivaldi for all my accounts
It does not happen in Vivaldi Android where everything is normal.
PS This is happening to every google search when trying to reach settings (the dotted box) -
Today, out of nowhere, my search engine favicons came back. Only 2-3 used to show before, now all but one or two show (seems something connected to the last one used).

Yeah, i was accidentally holding them for ransom, but i've released them now. Sorry about that...

12:07 PM in Reykjavik, there's still plenty of time... and daytime...
And then we are all wondering how we are getting "nightly" (not) builds, I mean you 've got to do something , in the afternoon after the afternoon
