Unable to watch Netflix
-
I'm having the same issue, as of today.
Yesterday I noticed a "restart to update", so I clicked on it. Then I tried opening a Netflix video and it didn't work.
The page kept loading and in the end it gave me a "Pardon the interruption. Please visit chrome://settings/content/protectedContent and make sure "Sites can play protected content" is selected. Error code M7702-1290."
But all those settings are already enabled, so I tried following the instructions stated here: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/media/widevinecdm-eme-drm-netflix-amazon-spotify/ : I went to demo.castlabs.com and tried to play the DRM video, and it refuses to play.
I have no idea how to fix it, if anyone could help it would be really appreciated.I'm on Vivaldi 5.2.2623.34 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
Windows 10 Version 20H2 (Build 19042.1586) -
@kirav For me i have Widevine Content Decryption Module - Version: 4.10.2449.0 on my 5.2 Stable.
Does this show Widevine at https://bitmovin.com/demos/drm
If not, then open vivaldi://components , go to section Widevine, hit "Check for Update" button and restart. -
@doctorg Mysteriously enough, apparently the vivaldi issue got fixed by itself when I fixed a permission issue (somehow since today I was suddenly unable to create new folders, I'm guessing a windows update f*ed up stuff) by going into regedit --> hkey_classes_root --> folder, and changing the parameter of "(default)" from "osz_auto_file" to "folder".
When I restarted and was finally able to create new folders, I was also able to watch Netflix. -
Hello, when I try to play on spotify or on netflix, it now work and still prompt to enable the protected content
