Can't minimize browser window
-
in version 5.3.2679.55 (Stable channel) (arm64) the shortcut for minimize window is wrong. There is just the letter M without any modifier key.
Should be easy to fix.
-
@sequeller That's odd. The Minimize (Window) shortcut in Preferences also does not have anything assigned to it... and after I assign Command-M myself, it works but ⌘M still does not show as the shortcut (under Window) to minimize the window.
-
@xyzzy Thanks for explaining the workaround. I know how to handle this. It was furthermore my attempt to report a bug to the folks from Vivaldi.
-
@sequeller No problem. I've asked about this internally. I also don't see this issue reported yet in Vivaldi's bug tracker. If you could submit a formal bug report, I'll confirm the bug and then a developer can get assigned to fix it.
As for the Minimize shortcut, I think that it actually gets defined my macOS and Vivaldi then picks it up... and that's why it's not defined in Preferences... but the setting is there if you choose to assign another key yourself.

I've mentioned this typo numerous times... But rest assured that it is only cosmetic: The menu selection (and the actual shortcut) work as expected!
(Think of it as you would a friend or relative's mispronunciation of a common word — merely a quirk!) -
Actually, I believe the "M" shortcut is correct. It's just that it doesn't work until you enable "Single Key Shortcuts" under Settings -> Keyboard. Once I discovered that, I love being able to just hit the M key to minimize the window. As long you don't have an active text input field, it works.

That is weird. Cmd-m minimizes other app windows, but not Vivaldi's.

@OakdaleFTL Note to self: Always install the latest version before remarking...
It seems 2679.55 (Stable channel) has -indeed- removed the Cmd-M functionality — my guess is, accommodating the Cmd-Shift-M shortcut to open the Mail tab...
Please tell me this is an oops?!And (of course) you can "add" it back...
(It's in the Windows section of the keyboard shortcuts.)
