When adding a new bookmark to the horizontal tab, a new Vivaldi window pops up.

@Pathduck
To be honest, I didn't even consider this taskbar, because I've been using top taskbar on windows for decades. And this appeared pretty recently and I didn't even consider in mind that can be an issue.
Thanks for a good conversation, and yes, hope they fix it. Meanwhile I put my taskbar on bottom and sufferBut it's better than annoying behaviour of bookmarks, since I add sometimes a lot of them (even only for temp use)

Re: [When adding a new bookmark to the horizontal tab](a new Vivaldi window pops up.)
Same as all the threads: also noticed this annoying behavior only since a few 5.3 updates ago:
- yes, on the most recently up-to-date WIndows 10
- yes, even in a fresh new install of latest regular downloaded standalone Vivaldi, in a fresh new default profile
- yes, very annoying for those of us who are using a lot of drag-and-drop of a tab onto the bookmark bar.
- yes, the workaround is to drop the dragged tab onto the bookmarks bar at least more than approximately halfway up the height of the bar! - this is a consistent finding - if I drop (release the same dragged tab) onto the lower half of the bar I get the damn new window to open.

@jsosmd Hi, I suggest you read through this topic and understand what might be causing it.
It should have already been reported, but from looking at this topic again, not sure if @stoleyourburger ever actually reported it. If you feel like making a new bug report you can, as I'm not just be aware if it's a duplicate it will likely be closed.
Please read:
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker

Hey Pathduck
I actually did report it to Vivaldi team, and I got even a ticket number VB-89857 in their Jira. But I don't recall any info from them, nor I know if there was any investigation/fix on their matter. -
@stoleyourburger Great
Usually, if you give your email, a tester will reply that the issue was confirmed. But not always. And sometimes it's just closed because the tester was not able to reproduce. Hard to tell.
You can ask in this topic about the status:

Usually answers are pretty fast -
