Solved Vivaldi is unusable on ebay.de
-
Just visit ebay.de and search for ekg - for example. Set the search results to tiled and watch what happens.
100% cpu

It makes my PC use 100%+cpu.
I now have to use Firefox which doesn't have this issue. -
Ok I've figured it out, turn off translation and it all works fine.
I had auto translate enabled. -
@0ryn
Hi, 100% on a 8 thread CPU is 12.5% all in all and I have much less on my system, may you check the internal task manager of Vivaldi from tools menu, too.Cheers, mib
-
I don't mind the CPU other than it goes on forever, it's more that the page never loads totally.
-
Completely silent here, check troubleshooting.

@0ryn
Hm, load in a second for me:The page look different on my system, is there any setting in ebay to get this view?
Cheers, mib

Set sort to tiles and set limit to 240
This actually crashes the tab for me.
-
If I try this in windows it doesn't actually crash it just goes very slow. Scrolling up and down the page results in a black page most of the time.
-
@0ryn
OK, then it take 2 seconds to load.
Maybe the GPU acceleration is not working correctly, try to disable it for a test. Settings > Webpages > restart Vivaldi.
My system specs are in my signature, not a gaming system at all.Cheers, mib

Thanks for that, sadly it didn't help.
What is interesting is that it starts to load the page fine then crashes. When it crashes the page title shows a chinese character in stead of a pipe sign |It should say ekg in | ebay
I've had this issue happen on other sites when you start typing into a web form. -
@0ryn
OK, last idea for now, a extension is involved.
May you can check with a guest profile, it exclude all settings and extensions.https://help.vivaldi.com/article/guest-view/
Cheers, mib

Interestingly it works fine in private mode. Though I get a translate popup and activating that is what does the chinese character.

@0ryn
I have it disabled too but I think this is a bug, it should work with automatic offer to translate.
If you have the time and inclination, you can report it. At least it would make Vivaldi a bit better:
For information on how to report a bug, see this URL: https://vvld.in/how-to-report-bugs
Once that is done, please share the bug number (beginning with VB-). Thanks.
On the form, you can add your email address. Once submitted, you'll get a confirmation. You can reply to this with any logs or further info.Cheers, mib
