Want Cmd+` to cycle through windows
-
MacOS Human Interface guidelines say that Cmd+` should cycle through windows.
I request this be added - with the appropriate keybinding for each OS platform.
Thanks! -
@joefilmmaker On Windows, Alt+Tab cycles between Windows, but not only Vivaldi windows. It cycles between all windows of all applications.
Ctrl+` can be assigned to cycle between Tabs, but there is no command to cycle between Vivaldi windows.
I guess, if Ctrl+` does not cycle between Mac application windows then that might be a bug.

On Macs Cmd+Tab cycles through Apps - there is one active window for a given app.
If an app has several windows (not tabs) it is standard to use Cmd+` to cycle through them.
This does not work in Vivaldi. Hence the request.
Without this it is very uncomfortable to have more than one window open in Vivaldi. -
This may or may not be something you want, but just in case it is: I use a free open source application called AltTab to make the process of switching windows in macOS a bit less weird. It lets me use a single shortcut to switch between ALL open windows, rather than having to keep track of whether I want to use the shortcut to switch to a different window in the same application or a window in a different application, and sometimes needing to use BOTH because when I switched apps the OS picked the wrong window.
If you like the way macOS handles window switching natively, this is probably not for you, but I've found it to be considerably more intuitive, and as a handy side-effect, it doesn't require you to rely on the developer of each application to implement their half of the window management process in the exact way Apple intended.

Actually, a quick correction: you can set up multiple window-switching shortcuts with different behavior, so you can also configure Cmd+` to switch between windows of the same application if that's something you want. This replaces the default Mac behavior with a more feature-rich window switcher (for example, you can also use the mouse to select the window you'd like to switch to using your mouse, kind of like in Mission Control). Since it's not the native switcher, it will always work consistently across all applications. I just confirmed that with this setup, I CAN use Cmd+` to switch between only Vivaldi windows, without having to touch anything in Vivaldi's settings.

Thanks. I'll try that.
This is still a bug though and I hope they fix it. -
@joefilmmaker I find it very odd that you cannot use Cmd+`.
I'm able to use it (and have been able to use it for as long as I've been using Vivaldi in two different macs) to cycle through Vivaldi windows just fine on my end, so I'm certain that this is already supported.

Yes, this is likely a bug specific to you, so if you haven't already, you should report it at vivaldi.com/bugreport.
It might help to know what version of macOS you use and whether you use any extensions.

@joefilmmaker: 'Cmd+`' does work for me on macOS, with the limitations (general for windows cycling on mac): it does not cycle through windows in Full Screen Mode, or when in Stage Manager mode (I'm on 13). Vivaldi is the only app I'm routinely using with multi-windows, took me a few to figure out that the limitations are not Vivaldi-specific.
