Solved Mail Panel items != folders
-
Thanks for giving the option to customize the items shown in the mail panel, much appreciated that I can now hide stuff I don't use.
Can I ask not to call these things "Folders"? In M2, we called them "Access points", later "views", which I think is quite fitting.
A folder is something where I move or copy a file to. By definition, that is not what Vivaldi does. We have standard IMAP folders which are shown in All accounts, as well as in the corresponding aggregation views, and the self-made IMAP the Custom folders view. Calling everything a folder ...what will we tell people? "To see your custom IMAP folders, look in the Custom Folders folder, then move your email from the Received folder or the Account INBOX folder to the right folder in the Custom folders folder"?!
In my Don Quichote'sque personal quest against folders, please please please reconsider naming them views before it's too late.

@jafaro Good news, this is now changed to 'Views' and will ship in the next snapshot. Thank you for your input.

And why not call them an Item, As you rightly titled "Mail panel items"?

Good question. After some thought: an item does not contain things. I find "view" fitting, given that "filter" is also taken.

My English is very poor, I need the help of online translators, so I cannot delve into the nuances of the English language.
However, I like "Item" because it is more abstract and therefore universal, it can be used for a folder, a mailbox, a filter, etc...
So for me, "Item" 51% - "View" 49% , not a big difference, is it?
Ah!, "Folder" 0%

@atlemo will this lead to any translations to be updated, because I don't see any in weblate?
