Vivaldi and AdBlock Plus

Using Vivaldi v. 5.2.2623.39
Is the AdBlock Plus extension known to cause lots of problems when it's used with Vivaldi?
This evening some creative new change under the hood on Facebook made all newsfeeds disappear when viewed the site with Vivaldi. The problem turned out to be some unfortunate interaction between Facebook, Vivaldi, and AdBlock Plus. When I disabled ADP for Facebook, the disappearing-newsfeeds problem stopped immediately. (I enabled Vivaldi's own ad-blocking tool instead, though I don't know how effective it is compared with programs like ABP.)
Facebook isn't the only site on which I've had trouble in Vivaldi when ABP is used. I'm glad I discovered this particular source of trouble. The idea of having to use either Firefox or Chrome on certain web sites—especially Facebook—fills me with dread.

@romidar The kind of blocker you are using is secondary. What matters is which blocking lists are being activated by it. All of the internal blocker, Adblock Plus and also ublock origin have the potential to disrupt webpage layout, or block content you’d like to see. You need to fine‐tune them to get to a result you are satisfied with. My advice is to only use one blocker and not to mix them.

This also means - when using an external blocker - to disable any blocking in the settings.
By the way, I have been using ublock origin for a long time without any problems. On the contrary, most sites do not recognize the blocker, which is why it is more effective than others.

People looking into this are saying that the culprit is some problematic filter(s) used by AdBlock Plus—problematic when the extension is used on Facebook. They didn't give details but said it appears that the AdBlock Plus people are working on a fix.
FWIW: The "symptom" is that when certain browsers are used (with AdBlock Plus enabled), users can't see anything in pages' and group's timelines or newsfeeds, including a person's own timeline. The problem apparently began affecting quite a few users at much the same time.
I haven't used Ublock Origin. (I've been partial to AdBlock Plus so far if only because it's 99.9% effective in blocking ads on YouTube.)

Some recent changes in AdblockPlus caused entire pages not to be displayed correctly on Facebook. It had something to do with certain filters the extension was using, and the problem didn't sound as if it were specific to any particular browser. Once the company learned of the problem they went to work on a fix. I don't know if they've since fixed it. ABP did not give me any trouble on Facebook, but it certainly caused problems for others. So that was a case of a particular program being at fault.
(I don't even know for certain if AdBlockPlus itself was the real culprit. Facebook's underlying code changes unpredictably and who knows what extensions—or entire browsers—might suddenly have problems there?)
